According to the gang at NeoGaf, this image was recently up on GameStop’s website for BioWare’s upcoming Mass Effect 3. Even though the image is somewhat tiny, you can still make out “Better with Kinect Sensor” across the top of the box art. The image was subsequently removed from GameStop’s website but, as with most things, it lives on in Internet-land. We will, of course, find out for sure when Microsoft puts on their E3 2011 press briefing on Monday morning.

Croteam has released the official first trailer for the next in the Serious Sam series, Serious Sam 3: BFE. Due out this Summer, SS3 looks to deal with Mental’s armies finally invading the planet and Sam is the only one who can stop them.

Rockstar Games has released the official trailer for their L.A. Noire Rockstar Pass, which is basically a pre-order pack for the seven DLC packs for crime-thriller L.A. Noire.

Rocksteady and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment have unveiled the official box art for their upcoming Batman: Arkham City, which is due out on October 18th.

Certain Affinity has announced that it will be giving the first demos of its upcoming XBLA RPG, Crimson Alliance, at next week’s Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles, CA. Crimson Alliance is due out this Summer and allows gamers to play as one of three classes in taking on hordes of creatures. The game will feature up to four-player co-op and each player will have his or her own unique storyline which will be revealed over the course of a campaign.

Bethesda Softworks’ marketing department is truly one of brilliance. Between awesome bits of swag given at expos like PAX and E3 to clever television spots and trailers. In their latest marketing move, they have put up a gigantic mural up on the side of the Hotel Figueroa in downtown Los Angeles! The advertisements are for their upcoming RPG, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, which is due out on November 11th, 2011.
Perfect World Entertainment has announced that it is acquiring Cryptic Studios, the developer behind Star Trek Online and Champions Online. According to official press statements, the deal went down for a cool €35.0 million in cash money. The press release does state that Cryptic will continue to support both of its online titles although it is still unclear what will happen, if anything, to City of Heroes.
“We are very pleased to sign the agreement to acquire Cryptic Studios,” commented Mr. Michael Chi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Perfect World. “This strategic acquisition will add attractive game titles to our portfolio, which will help us further penetrate into the U.S. and global online game markets. More importantly, Cryptic Studios’ highly reputable development team and its technology platform will further strengthen our well-established R&D capabilities. We deem this as another noteworthy achievement of our global expansion efforts.”
Fatshark has released a new gameplay trailer for their co-op puzzle/adventure game, Hamilton’s Great Adventure. The game is out now on Windows PCs via Steam for $9.99.
