Tabletop Game Shop Simulator Opens its Doors on PC in 2025

Tabletop Game Shop Sim, the wargame miniature store simulator from developer Knight Fever Games, opens for business later this year on PC via Steam, as revealed during the Games Made in France event.

Manage a budding tabletop store from the ground up. Design the store’s layout, set reasonable prices (resellers beware!), and create a welcoming atmosphere to attract a loyal customer base. Hire fellow board game aficionados as staff, complete transactions, and handle restocks as inventory flies off the shelf. Ensure the shop stays afloat by effectively managing finances and navigating the ever-murky waters of supply and demand.

Place the owner’s tabletop prowess on full display and collect prized miniatures. Open mystery packs to secure rare parts, then assemble and paint them to increase their value. Choose to sell figures for profit or add them to a growing collection. Master painting skills to create one-of-a-kind figures to impress customers and raise the store’s reputation.

Become a staple of the board gaming community and expand the store over time. Host epic game nights and compete against customers, celebrate with exclusive product launches, and attract high-profile customers. As it reaches closing time, strive for success and bigger opportunities on a quest to become the largest tabletop shop in town.

“As an avid Miniature Wargame enthusiast, I’ve always wanted to create a game that captures that feeling,” said Adrien Britta, Co-Founder of Knight Fever Games. “I can’t wait to see everyone open their own tabletop shops, create memories with customers, and craft a successful business from such a beloved hobby.”

Sony Introduces New Flagship WH-1000XM6 Headphones

Sony Electronics Inc. today announced the WH-1000XM6 wireless noise canceling headphones, the latest edition of its award winning 1000X series that sets a new standard for premium audio and personal listening experiences. Powered by a new next-gen chip and intelligent algorithms, the WH-1000XM6 headphones combine premium sound with the best noise canceling1 into a new seamless, foldable design that creates an unparalleled audio experience for the everyday music lovers, travellers, and music professionals.

The Next Evolution in Noise Cancellation

The WH-1000XM6 headphones are powered by a new HD Noise Canceling Processor QN3 that is seven times faster than the previous model and uses twelve microphones, 1.5 times more than the WH-1000XM5, to fine-tune sounds in real time. The precise detection of the twelve microphones allows for more accurate and adaptive noise cancellation to fit the user’s environment. Whether looking to block out noise on a busy commute or stay focused in the office, the WH-1000XM6 sound experience is built to be seamless and powerful anywhere.

Additionally, Sony’s new Adaptive NC Optimizer delivers unmatched noise canceling precision that adjusts to any form of external noise and air pressure. Plus, the specially designed driver unit is optimally tuned for enhanced noise cancellation.

Auto Ambient Sound mode is even more accurate at adapting to listeners’ surroundings in real time, balancing music and external sound. Microphones are used to filter noise, letting in only important noises like announcements and conversations. Adjust settings automatically or fine-tune them 2manually in the Sony | Sound Connect app.

Premium Sound, Co-Created with the Masters

The WH-1000XM6 headphones were developed in collaboration with world-renowned mastering audio engineers at three of the industry’s top recording studios – Sterling Sound, Battery Studios, and Coast Mastering – to refine every note for studio-level accuracy and deliver a superior music experience the way the artist intended.

The team of Grammy-winning and Grammy-nominated engineers who contributed to the WH-1000XM6 commitment to deliver the artist’s intended sound includes Randy Merrill (Sterling Sound), Chris Gehringer (Sterling Sound), Mike Piacentini (Battery Studios), and Michael Romanowski (Coast Mastering).

“Sony has always been a benchmark for premium quality, and the WH-1000XM6 headphones take it to a new level,” says Randy Merrill, Mastering Engineer from Sterling Studio who took part in the co-creation of the WH-1000XM6 headphones. “They transport me to a different world with their excellent bass, frequency response, soundstage and detail and truthfully represent the sounds of the recordings that we work so hard to make.”

Mike Piacentini from Battery Studios states, “we, as mastering engineers, spend a lot of time with the artists and producers to make their vision sound as intended. With the WH-1000XM6, listeners will have a more enjoyable experience because they’re hearing every emotion, engineering decision, and songwriting choice that the artist and engineer have made.”

Engineered to Perfection

The WH-1000XM6 are engineered to perfection with the specially designed driver unit delivering clarity that feels almost tangible, and every detail with precision.

The high rigidity carbon fiber composite material dome and uniquely developed voice coil structure brings out the subtleties in every frequency—making vocals sound richer, instruments more defined, and bringing out the emotion in the track.

The WH-1000XM6 supports the High-Resolution Audio and High-Resolution Audio Wireless, thanks to LDAC, Sony’s industry-adopted audio coding technology3. In addition, using Edge-AI, DSEE Extreme™ upscales compressed digital music files in real time to restore high range sound lost in compression.

The Sony | Sound Connect app makes it even easier to fine tune the entertainment experience on the WH-1000XM62. When listening to music, listeners can customize their perfect sound with the 10-band EQ or create a spacious feel with Background Music Effect. Gamers can also enjoy the Game EQ, developed with Sony’s expertise from INZONE, its gaming gear brand, to enhance sound quality for first-person shooter (FPS) gaming. For those watching movies on the go, the WH-1000XM6 also feature 360 Reality Audio Upmix for Cinema that brings spatial sound experience to transport listeners into the movie from 2ch stereo sound by Sony’s unique upmix and 360 Spatial Sound technology.

Always Be Heard with the Ultra Clear Call Quality

The WH-1000XM6 gives clarity to every call with an advanced six-microphone AI-based beamforming system that isolates the user’s voice from background noise, even in noisy environments. Users can now mute4 instantly with a touch of a button.

Masterfully Crafted for All-Day Comfort

The familiar iconic design of the 1000X series has been taken to the next level with an elegant, soft fit wider headband featuring synthetic leather ensuring a pressure-free fit. The asymmetrical headband design makes it easy to identify the left and right side with just a glance.

The earpads are designed for all-day wear thanks to stretchable material that provides a secure yet gentle fit to reduce pressure while still blocking external noise.

Plus, the intuitive controls allow users to easily switch between noise canceling, ambient sound, and mic mute5 with tactile buttons and a responsive touch panel.

Inspired by products with handcrafted precision workmanship, the folding mechanism on the WH-1000XM6 is crafted using advance metal injection for a seamless durable fold, while designed to slip easily into bags and airplane pockets. The compact case now features a magnetic closure for convenient access.

More Intuitive, Smarter than Ever

The WH-1000XM6 now has Scene-based Listening, a new intuitive feature that uses sensing technology to automatically play music according to the user’s activity and adjust noise cancellation level based on their environment and location. Quick Access and Scene-based Listening can connect to the top music service including Amazon Music (via “Amazon Music Play Now”)6, Apple Music7, Spotify (via “Spotify Tap”)8 and YouTube Music9.

The WH-1000XM6 supports LE (low energy) Audio, delivering ultra-low latency for flawless gaming and effortless access to broadcasts with AuraCast10, with exceptional sound quality. The Multi-Point and Auto Switch makes switching between devices seamless, so listeners are always connected without interruption.

Users can now listen and charge at the same time by simply plugging in the USB charging cable. The WH-1000XM6 headphones come with up to 30 hours of battery life with noise cancelling on, so users can enjoy superlative sound even on long trips, with a remarkable three-hours’ worth of charge in just three minutes11.

Partnership with global superstar Post Malone

Sony has partnered with 9x Diamond-certified, GRAMMY® Award-nominated global icon Post Malone as part of Sony’s “For The Music” audio brand campaign. As one of the most influential and genre-defying artists of his generation, Post Malone embodies the spirit of authenticity, creativity, and connection—values that lie at the core of Sony’s approach to audio innovation. “Great sound is essential for me when I’m making and listening to music,” said Post Malone. “These new noise canceling headphones make you feel completely inside the music.” As part of the campaign, Post Malone worked alongside Sony’s team to create a series of ads that showcase how Sony’s audio technology transforms the listening experience, making fans feel like they’re sharing a moment with the artist in real-time.

Made with the environment in mind

Sony has designed these headphones with the environment in mind. The WH-1000XM6 packaging is made from 100% paper materials. Sony continues to advance the adoption of Sony’s proprietary paper, Original Blended Material, for the packaging of its flagship headphone model, the 1000X series (the WF-1000XM5, WF-1000XM4, WH-1000XM5 and WH-1000XM6). Original Blended Material is an environmentally conscious paper material made from bamboo, sugarcane fibres, and post-consumer recycled paper12.

World of Warships Longest Night of Museums Livestream Event Returns

Wargaming, the developer and publisher of the leading naval multiplayer game World of Warships, is set to host its 5th annual Longest Night of Museums livestream event on May 18th, commemorating the evolution of iconic warships during World War II. This year’s event also introduces the Naval Museum Atlas, a brand-new free discovery tool that rewards players for visiting museums. Alongside, May welcomes a boatload of content to the game, including a new action-packed game mode, Perilous Route, the arrival of Operation Dynamo to mark its 85th anniversary, a strategic event, and much more.

The Longest Night of Museums Returns For Its 5th Anniversary

Returning for its fifth year, World of Warships is set to host its annual Longest Night of Museums on May 18th, with a focus on the different types of warships involved in World War II, and their evolution during the war. Spotlighting museums from around the world that are home to some of history’s most legendary vessels, the stream will take a look at the development of various warships. This includes aircraft carriers with the USS Intrepid, exploring how roles changed for battleships with a trip to the USS Wisconsin, and how submarines have helped shape naval warfare with the USS Cod.

To celebrate five years of Longest Night at the Museums, this year’s event will also see the participation of the popular YouTube channel History Hit, where world-renowned historian Dan Snow will face off against AI in a debate on ship evolutions.

“We have previously partnered with World of Warships and are proud to support an event that showcases the remarkable work of museums dedicated to preserving the stories of these iconic vessels,” said Dan Snow of History Hit. ”As passionate advocates of history, we believe events like the Longest Night of Museums are invaluable opportunities to inspire and engage new generations with our shared maritime heritage.”

Rewarding way to discover museums: The Naval Museum Atlas

Also launching during this year’s event is the Naval Museum Atlas – a new digital platform designed to help players and history enthusiasts discover naval museums around the world. Presented as an interactive map, with 9 naval museums and historical institutions from all over the world at launch, soon to be joined by much more, the Atlas provides practical information to support real-world visits and highlights institutions dedicated to preserving maritime heritage. As the database continues to grow, upcoming features will include exclusive museum perks via World of Warships’ Captain’s Club and special in-game bonus codes available on-site at participating museums

World of Warships Brings Operation Dynamo and New Dangers to the High Seas

To commemorate 85 years since 300,000 soldiers were evacuated from Dunkirk, Operation Dynamo comes to World of Warships in full force with a new Event Pass. Across two progression lines, players can unlock Containers, the “Monochrome” Enemy Destruction Effect, permanent camouflages, and much more. A new limited-time Port activity also arrives in the form of a strategic event, as a player-versus-everyone activity where players use cards representing the Little Ships of Dunkirk to overcome challenges and opponents. By doing this, players will earn Operation Dynamo Containers, a special “Braving the Fire Flag” and Tier VI British destroyer Gallant along the way.

May brings additional challenges to the seven seas with the arrival of Perilous Route, a new limited-time game mode that sees players escorting a damaged Command Ship to its destination whilst tackling waves of deadly enemy ships. During the journey, the Command Ship will need to make two stops to repair itself from the barrage of attacks, in which a randomised task must be completed to continue. Using any Tier VIII to IX ships, with the exception of submarines, players will have to use everything in their arsenal to finish the ship’s journey and emerge victorious.

World of Warships rounds out its May update with crossover content as Azur Lane makes another splash with Wave 7 of new content, bringing the popular sidescrolling naval warfare game to World of Warships once again. Closing out the update, Soviet Submarines depart from Early Access, construction of Tier IX German Premium heavy cruiser Blücher 1939 in the Dockyard continues, and players can dive into new Ranked Battles and Brawls.

Space Strategy Game Galactic Civilizations IV Receives Major Overhaul

Popular space strategy game, Galactic Civilizations® IV is receiving a major overhaul of core game mechanics, map generation and computer opponents in Galactic Civilizations IV v3.0 Hyperlane Update which releases on June 12, 2025, free for all players.

To celebrate the announcement, Stardock has put the entire franchise on sale this week as well as provided updates to the previous editions in the series. For Galactic Civilizations IV v3.0 Hyperlane Update, players can look forward to:

• Hyperlanes. One of the defining features of the game is the free-form movement of ships on the map. Galactic Civilizations IV keeps the freeform movement but also now generates maps where groups of stars are connected by hyperlanes that drastically increase unit speed between stars.

“The Galactic Civilizations games have always stood out because players can take their fleets and move them freely on the map. However, players have requested having map generation where groups of stars are very distant from each other within a given sector,” said Brad Wardell, CEO of Stardock Entertainment. “The challenge there is that players also don’t want to spend dozens of turns moving through the void of deep space, Hyperlanes let us have it both ways.”

• Fleet Supply. To decrease micromanagement as well as make starship quality more distinct, the game now adds the concept of a civilization-wide fleet supply limit which can be increased by technology, events and other mechanics.

“The goal here is to make the path to victory not be dependent on who can put together the largest blob of units. While mass fleet sizes are still possible, players have to earn that by making that part of their strategy as opposed to it being the default and only path,” said Wardell.

• User Experience Revamp. While not a specific feature, Version 3.0 includes hundreds of small updates and improvements across the board. From new, higher resolution textures for ships to balance improvements to the new Civilization data screens which let players get insights into their civilizations.

Galactic Civilizations

“Over the past year we’ve received thousands of requests and suggestions from the fanbase. The Hyperlane Update was our opportunity to integrate as many of these as we could into a single huge update,” said Wardell.

The Hyperlane Update is now available as a Preview build on Steam with the final release scheduled for early June. In addition, starting today, the entire franchise is on sale on Steam.

Cubic Odyssey – Launch Trailer

Gaijin Entertainment and Atypical Games are thrilled to announce the release of Cubic Odyssey, an open-world voxel-based adventure that invites players to explore and reshape the galaxy. The game is now available for purchase on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. For a limited time, players can enjoy a 10% launch discount exclusively on Steam during the first two weeks after release.

Cubic Odyssey begins with a crash landing on a distant planet in a star system plagued by the Red Darkness. This mysterious, corrupting force twists everything it touches – from creatures and plants to the very soil and stone. Players gather resources, construct their first base, and repair a starship to begin their quest across a galaxy full of danger and wonder. The ultimate goal: to rid the world of the Red Darkness and save Queen Atia.

Whether you choose to save the galaxy alone or join forces with friends in co-op mode, Cubic Odyssey offers a rich experience for every kind of player. Guiding your journey from the start is QB-1, a loyal drone companion providing you with vital tools such as a basic extractor, a workbench, and a weapon. QB-1 also scans terrain and reveals hidden ore, making mining and underground exploration more comfortable.

Players have access to an array of ranged weapons, including pistols, carbines, shotguns, machine guns, and sniper rifles—each with unique handling, fire rate, and energy-based mechanics. Melee weapons are also available for up-close encounters. Hostile wildlife, space pirates, and corrupted beings infected by the Red Darkness ensure that threats lurk on every world and in every orbit.

Beyond combat and exploration, creativity plays a central role. Players can shape terrain, plant trees, construct bases, and build their vision of a habitable world. Starships themselves are fully customizable, constructed block-by-block with smaller elements than those that make up the planets. These ships can be armed and upgraded to face off against pirates throughout the galaxy.

With adventure, survival and creative modes, four-character classes, and hundreds of planets to discover, Cubic Odyssey offers a universe of possibilities for explorers, builders, and warriors alike.
