Expeditions: Rome Announced

Friends, Romans, Countrymen, lend me your ears! We’ve come to praise a new game, called Expeditions: Rome! A classic RPG (Rome Playing Game) it is, full of story and memorable characters. A game where your choices will matter, where your choices will shape the fate of Rome itself.

You are about to become a young Legatus, leading a Roman legion against the forces of a rebelling Greece. This campaign marks the start of your legacy that will take you to all corners of the world, making friends and allies, growing as a warrior and leader, all while uncovering political plots that have far-reaching implications for the future of Rome. Prove yourself in turn-based combat and find the right tactics to overcome any challenge you and your fellowship of elite fighters will face, then direct your legion to exert the might of Rome across the world.

Expeditions: Rome is developed by Logic Artists, from Copenhagen, Denmark, who were also responsible for the critically acclaimed Expeditions: Conquistador and Expeditions: Viking. But as we all know: all roads lead to Rome. The game is currently in development for PC and scheduled to release later this year. Find out more on the official Website.

Solasta: Crown of the Magister Soundtrack Coming Soon

Independent developer Tactical Adventures released a music video for World of Light, the main theme song from their upcoming tactical RPG Solasta: Crown of the Magister today. The upcoming soundtrack will feature 23 tracks, all composed by Maxime Hervé (“Beyond the Aquila Rift.” Love Death & Robots, Netflix 2019). The music video is the first in a series, a reward unlocked by backers during the Solasta: Crown of the Magister Kickstarter campaign.

Produced and distributed by G4F Records, the music label behind Amplitude Studios, The Game Bakers, Pixel Reef and more, the Solasta: Crown of the Magister soundtrack will be available digitally or vinyl (pre-order) at launch on May 27.

Wizards of the Coast has granted Tactical Adventures a license to use the Dungeon & Dragons SRD 5.1 content and rules in Solasta: Crown of the Magister.

Solasta is a team-based tactical role-playing game where each character plays a critical role in the campaign and can be a hero. The dynamic and mysterious world features elements of verticality, allowing players to use their surroundings as an element of strategy. Players can position ranged characters on high vantage points or send their rogue down into shafts and caverns to scope out what lies ahead. In Solasta, light is a tool to explore the depths and hallows of dungeons or can be used as a weapon against the creatures of the dark, but if players are not careful, it will give away the party’s position to nasty creatures bent on their demise.

Europa Universalis IV Leviathan is Out Now

Why voyage to distant shores when there is treasure and plunder so near by? The gold of our vassals will decorate our palace, and piles of plunder from looted rivals will fund our improvements. It is said that true growth comes from within, that nothing lasting can be built on the ashes of war. We say that true growth can also come from the enemies you make along the way. Now, with Europa Universalis IV: Leviathan, you can harvest your foes for development and profit.

Available today, Leviathan is the latest expansion to Paradox’s celebrated historical grand strategy game, and the first developed by Paradox Tinto. Leviathan adds a number of new diplomatic and domestic options, with more opportunities for expanding and improving your nation’s position as it competes for power from the Renaissance to the Age of Revolution.

Europa Universalis IV: Leviathan is available at the Paradox Store and major online retailers for the suggested retail price of $19.99/£15.49/€19.99.

Features of Europa Universalis IV: Leviathan include:

  • Improved Diplomacy: Cultivate relationships with your neighbors, curry favor so you can request gifts, military support and even provinces.
  • New Regency Options: Regency councils represent the interests of the most powerful estate, and can be extended to delay the ascension of an unfit monarch.
  • Specialized Colonial Nations: Let your colonies focus on military help, trade power or self-government.
  • Concentrate Development: You can now steal development from your vassals or territorial possessions to enhance the power of your capital city.
  • Pillage Capital: Loot an enemy capital as a condition of peace, hauling development back to the capital metropolis.
  • Expand Infrastructure: Provinces can expand their capacity to build new structures and manufactories, allowing smaller nations to create centers of wealth for a modest cost.
  • Centralize State: Reduce the cost of government by spending unused Reform points.
  • Totemism: Nations that follow the Totemist religion can revere a pantheon of past leaders, earning bonuses that reflect the skills they had in life.
  • Monuments: Expand and establish great projects, adding new bonuses to your empire.
  • New Unit Models: New army sprites for Southeast Asian nations, including Indochinese, Indonesian and Polynesian nations.
  • And more: Including the ability to carpet siege enemy provinces, draft transports as a plutocratic nation, watch heirs gain legitimacy as they wait to inherit the throne and other changes.

Leviathan is accompanied by a major free update available to all Europa Universalis IV players. The “Majapahit” update includes modifications to the maps of Southeast Asia and North America, with major gameplay changes for North American First Nations. It also adds Australian Aboriginal nations.

Blood Bowl 3 Looks at the Black Orcs Team

Four brand-new teams are taking the Blood Bowl video game pitch in the famous franchise’s highly-anticipated third entry. Amongst the teams is a race that is not entirely unknown to fans: the Black Orcs! NACON and Cyanide Studio are giving you the opportunity to watch a gameplay video of this race so you can admire their crushing physical superiority.

Tired of the amateur performance of the other Greenskins, the Black Orcs have decided to create their own teams. Forget about passing, dodging and speed: above all, the Black Orcs are shining examples of how methodically and brutally grind opposing players into the dirt.

Lining up next to a Troll, whose extraordinary wild strength is only equalled by its striking stupidity, and Goblins that carry the ball and flood the pitch, the Orcs’ favorite tactic involves reaching the end zone by viciously crushing any opponents foolish enough to try to bar their way!

As violent as they are powerful, the Black Orcs are a formidable race in Blood Bowl 3. Additional videos will be released soon to highlight more teams, showing their strengths, weaknesses and the strategies they use in the game.

Planned for release in August 2021, the game will be available on PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Steam and Nintendo Switch™.
