Pearl Abyss today announced that its open-world action-adventure title Crimson Desert has surpassed 6 million copies sold worldwide. Since its launch on March 19, 2026, the team has continued to build a dedicated global community of players through consistent free content updates.
“We are sincerely grateful to players around the world for helping Crimson Desert achieve meaningful success in the global market despite being a new IP,” said Jin-young Heo, CEO of Pearl Abyss. “To provide more enjoyable and better experiences, Pearl Abyss will continue moving forward and taking on new challenges.”
Crimson Desert has demonstrated exceptional momentum since launch, drawing strong attention across the global market. The title sold 2 million copies on launch day and surpassed 5 million copies in less than a month, before reaching 6 million copies in just 83 days. This marks an unprecedented sales milestone for a Korean-developed single-player game.
These achievements are meaningful as Crimson Desert is a new IP that reaches this milestone in the global single-player gaming market, which has traditionally been led by established franchises. According to data from U.S. market research firm Circana, Crimson Desert ranked No.2 in 2026 year-to-date U.S. video game sales.
This sales milestone arrives as Pearl Abyss continues to expand the game. A wave of content and feature updates is rolling out gradually from June through September, further improving the Crimson Desert’s appeal to both existing players and new audiences. These updates include story refinements, new combat content, cross-save support across PC, PlayStation and Xbox, and a range of quality-of-life improvements. Pearl Abyss has also confirmed that downloadable content (DLC) is in development, with further details to be shared in the future.
Crimson Desert is now available on PlayStation®5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Epic Game Store and Apple Mac.
