Norwegian singer Helene Bøksle is known to millions of gamers, even if most never knew her name. She performed the vocal tracks on the Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures soundtrack, including ”Ere the World Crumbles”, a song that helped the score win the Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Original Score in a Video Game. For a generation of players, her voice was part of the experience.
Then, in 2011, her music was included in the manifesto released during the Utøya terror attack, which saw 77 people killed, most of them teenagers. It was an association she never chose, and it followed her for years.
You can read more in our interview with Helene on our blog.
Now she is taking her voice back by having re-recorded the rearranged songs, and Funcom has added them to Conan Exiles Enhanced. The music is back in the world of Conan.
You can hear what she made of it in the official music video for the brand-new version of ”Ere the World Crumbles”, out now.
Helene Bøksle is one of Norway’s most celebrated vocalists, with nine solo albums, tens of millions of streams, and collaborations with artists like Secret Garden and Brendan Graham, the Irish songwriter behind You Raise Me Up. Her re-recorded tracks are available in Conan Exiles Enhanced today.
