Thiefcatcher Games, an independent team of six developers, today launched Blood & Canvas: Bareknuckle Boxing on PC via Steam for $24.99 USD. Set in the underground fighting scene of the late 1990s, the single-player game challenges players to climb from illegal bouts to the professional rankings while managing damage that follows their fighter from one match to the next.
Last week, the team announced that the game features content from the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC). Players can see BKFC banners in their gym and watch select real-world BKFC matches on its TV. A future major update is planned to add playable BKFC fighters and BKFC’s ring.
In Blood & Canvas, every fight carries a cost. Cuts and other injuries accumulate throughout a career, and enough punishment can end it for good. Players must control distance, manage stamina, and choose when to target the head or body as they work through underground venues and face tougher opponents.
Victories earn fight purses that players can use to improve their fighter’s Strength, Dexterity, and Vitality and upgrade their gym. As their career advances, the fighter and training space change with it, reflecting the distance travelled from a makeshift start toward a championship run.
Blood & Canvas: Bareknuckle Boxing is available now on Steam for $24.99 USD. PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions are planned for 2027. The game contains depictions of violence and drug references and is intended for mature audiences.
