As part of the Galaxies Autumn Showcase, Panache Digital Games and Fictions today announced that Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2 on December 8, 2026. Players who own Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will receive a free upgrade to the PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S version.
Originally released in 2019 and with over 2 million units sold to date, Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey is a third-person open-world survival game set during the dawn of humanity. Players explore a vast world, expand and evolve their clan, discover new abilities and pass knowledge from one generation to the next as they embark on an evolutionary journey spanning millions of years.
The December 8 release introduces a host of new features and improvements, including documentary-style narration, a feature-rich photo mode and quality-of-life enhancements, as well as full optimization for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. This will also be the first time the game is released on Nintendo platforms. These improvements will also be coming to PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey launches December 8 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Nintendo Switch 2. The game will also remain available on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
