“The king is dead, long live the king!” was a common phrase in medieval times, declaring that even when a king died, the monarchy would go on. Most of the time, it was clear who the heir to the throne was: the first-born son. But sometimes, it took a bit longer to figure out who was going to reign. And that was the case with the critically acclaimed Knights of Honor II: Sovereign, launched in December 2022.

Now, veteran developers have picked up the sceptre under a new banner and started working on Knights of Honor II again, delivering Update 7 today! Part of THQ Nordic’s legacy has always been what we call “asset care”: working on our excellent games from older days to serve the loyal communities that are still playing them. And this is exactly what will happen with Knights of Honor II: Sovereign. Update 7 marks just the beginning of a renewed commitment to supporting the game.

Update 7 puts the spotlight on espionage and mercenaries, with both systems getting a redesign to make them more interesting to use throughout the early, mid and late game. You can check out the full patch notes here: https://thqn.net/4AHJ3ji
