NC America announced its upcoming MMORPG, AION 2, reached #1 on Steam’s Global Top Sellers chart as of today, Wednesday, September 30. In addition to the global ranking, AION 2 reached the #1 position in eight countries including Brazil, Canada, France, Italy, Poland, Singapore, Spain, and Thailand. AION 2 hit the #2 ranking in Germany, Austria, Finland, and Turkey; #3 in Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland and the United States; #4 in the Czech Republic, Sweden, and the United Kingdom; and #6 in Denmark and Norway.

Steam ranks Top Sellers by revenue. AION 2 will be free to play at launch, so its position comes from players choosing to pay for Early Access to a game NC built to run for years, not weeks.

Early Access runs alongside “War For Atreia”, NC’s creator event in which 60 streamers across North America, Europe, and South America compete for their faction from September 30 through October 14, with Twitch Drops available while rostered creators are live. The event runs two weeks, seven times the length of comparable launch events NC’s team has run before.

“Reaching #1 on Steam ahead of launch is a strong start, but a launch is only part of how we measure success,” said Merv Lee Kwai, Co-CEO of NC America and Executive Publishing Producer for AION 2. “NC has been making MMOs for more than 30 years. What matters is doing right by the AION franchise and its players while building a game that holds up over time, with steady content and earning trust with players. That work hits a big milestone today, September 30, and I can’t wait for you to be a part of this journey.”

AION 2 is the sequel to the original AION and launched in Korea and Taiwan in November 2025. Flight is the signature experience: players fly freely across a world 36 times larger than the original, dive underwater, and fight in aerial combat across PvE and PvP.

The Founder’s Pack is available on PC through Sunday, October 4, on the AION 2 Steam page and NC’s PURPLE platform.
