Neon Giant, a creative studio of KRAFTON, Inc., today announced that its action-shooter RPG The Ascent will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 2. The release schedule was revealed during Nintendo Direct, marking the next step in the platform expansion first teased as part of the game’s fifth-anniversary roadmap earlier this year.
Set in a densely populated cyberpunk world, The Ascent is an action-shooter RPG that can be played solo or in co-op with up to four players. Since its original release in 2021, more than 12 million players have entered the world of Veles.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version will be available digitally through Nintendo eShop as The Ascent Ultimate Edition for $29.99. The package includes the base game and all three previously released DLC packs — Cyber Heist, CyberSec Pack and Cyber Warrior Pack — giving players access to the complete experience in a single edition. The game will support 10 languages, including English, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Japanese, Polish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian and Simplified Chinese.
Pre-orders will open on Nintendo eShop on October 5. During the pre-order period, the Ultimate Edition will be available at a 10% discount for $26.99, with the offer running through launch on December 2.
Ahead of the Nintendo Switch 2 release, Neon Giant will roll out a Legacy Patch for the existing PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation versions on November 19. The update will include localization improvements and fixes for previously identified issues, with those improvements also incorporated into the Nintendo Switch 2 version.
The Ascent launches on Nintendo Switch 2 on December 2 at 6:00 p.m. PST in North America. Players can learn more by visiting the official website, Steam store page, and social media channels (Discord | X | YouTube).
