Good Smile Company Inc. has announced that its upcoming PlayStation 5/PC game Patlabor: The Case Files will be released on September 17, 2026.

In addition to Japanese, the game will support English, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and Korean, making it available for purchase by players worldwide.

Players can enjoy a variety of experiences unique to the game, including:

  • Missions that can be played from different perspectives, including that of Special Vehicle Section 2 and those who oppose them.
  • More than 20 Labors appear in the game, allowing players to pilot iconic machines including the Ingram, Griffon, and Zero Type.
  • A Simulator Mode where players can take on shooting training exercises and Labor-versus-Labor battles.

Labors are a general term for robots developed for industrial use.

While they became widely used in the construction and civil engineering industries, crimes involving Labors also increased rapidly.

In response, the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department established the Special Vehicle Section 2 Patrol Labor Unit to combat these crimes.

Thus, the unit known as “Patlabor” was born.
