Studio Wildcard today announced the launch of Fantastic Tames Season 1, a premium creature pack for ARK: Survival Ascended available on PC Steam & Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Fantastic Tames Season 1 introduces fresh ways for Survivors to dominate the battlefield, outmaneuver rivals, and adapt to ever-changing threats with a trio of extraordinary creatures forged from ARK’s most mystical anomalies.
With Season 1, today players gain immediate access to the Burrowbuck, a swift and elusive rabbit-like tame who can create underground ‘burrows’ within which players can build bases, along with highly agile jumping and ambushing abilities for guerilla warfare. Two additional Fantastic Tames in Season 1 will be arriving later this year:
- Cerberax (Q3 2026) – A towering three-headed frontline beast designed for coordinated multi-rider combat, where each head delivers devastating elemental attacks that can chain together into destructive combo abilities.
- Enigmasaur (Q4 2026) – A mysterious shape-shifting entity capable of mimicking nearby creatures and stealing their unique abilities, allowing Survivors to adapt to nearly any situation through deception and disguise.
Also launching alongside the Burrowbuck today is the Araneo TLC Update, a free creature enhancement voted into development by the ARK community during Extra Life 2025 charity livestream. The reworked Araneo spider is now a versatile tactical mount featuring updated hunting mechanics and tactical web abilities which make it a dangerous ambush predator. No longer content to skitter at ground level, these overgrown spiders have begun claiming the high ground, using web-lines to traverse elevated terrain then dropping down from above to wrap up unsuspecting prey in webbing before subduing them with a venomous bite.
The revamped Araneo descends from shadows with enhanced mobility, tactical webbing abilities, and a deadly new role as ARK’s ultimate ambush predator.
Fantastic Tames Season 1 is available beginning today for $9.99 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Epic Games Store and Steam PC.
ARK: Survival Ascended includes access to all of ARK’s worlds, including Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, ARK Genesis Part 1 and Part 2. Available now on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC and Steam, players will create a Survivor, form a tribe, and then tame, train, breed & ride dinosaurs within a living ecosystem.
