Pearl Abyss has released Patch 1.04.00 for Crimson Desert, delivering a broad range of gameplay enhancements, expanded systems, and quality-of-life improvements. This patch builds on the update preview shared earlier this month, introducing much-requested features such as difficulty settings, more storage options, new pets, and expanded combat and control systems, further improving the player experience following launch.

Patch 1.04.00 Details

Difficulty Settings & New Character Skills

Players can now choose between Easy, Normal, and Hard modes through the settings menu. These options allow for a more customized combat experience, with Normal mode being the baseline mode matching the original difficulty and Hard mode offering increased enemy strength, new boss patterns for certain bosses, and tighter parrying and dodging windows for advanced players. Additionally, new skills have been introduced for key characters and improvements to certain attack flows.

Housing & Storage System Improvements

There are now multiple selectable layouts for housing and improvements to housing controls, such as bulk furniture retrieval. Alongside this, a variety of new storage options have been added with the housing system, allowing players to access stored items directly during crafting or cooking without needing them in their inventory.

Controls, UI, and Accessibility Improvements

A control preset feature has been added for both keyboard/mouse and controllers. New UI updates include inventory category tabs, improved map tools, and clearer shop and quest interfaces alongside new accessibility options such as a colorblind mode.

Technical & Visual Enhancements

On the technical side, the update introduces improvements to visual fidelity, including enhanced rendering of distant environments, improved lighting and textures, and better character detail at range. Platform-specific optimizations have been implemented across PC, console, and Mac, with stability improvements and numerous bug fixes to ensure a smoother overall experience.

Crimson Desert Original Soundtrack Volume 1

Pearl Abyss also plans to release Volume 1 of the Crimson Desert OST, consisting of 75 tracks, in the very near future. The OST will be available as free DLC on Steam and the Epic Games Store and will also be released on major global music streaming platforms. The OST is also scheduled to be released on the Pearl Abyss Music YouTube channel.
