Dead by Daylight is back with a fresh release to ring in the spring that includes a new Survivor – the unflinching Orela Rose – new Events, an overhaul to The Archives, all-new can’t-miss Cosmetics, and a real-world charitable partnership for very good cause.
A Light in the Darkness
Dead by Daylight: Steady Pulse marks the introduction of one of the most selfless Survivors The Entity’s Realm has ever seen in Orela Rose. A stalwart first responder, Orela enters The Fog with the intention of not just surviving, but saving as many lives as possible en route to escape.
Driven by the untimely loss of her best friend to a tragic accident, Orela vowed to never let the same fate befall another in need. She quit university and embarked on a career as an EMT where her unshakable demeanor and calming presence led her to quickly excelling in her new vocation. Luckily for her fellow Survivors, Orela’s heroics extend well beyond patching up wounds. The more intense the pressure, the more her skillset shines, making her the one others can rely on when hope begins to fade.
Orela Rose brings 3 character-specific Perks to the scene:
Do No Harm: Whenever you heal another Survivor, gain increased heal speed and Great Skill Check progress for each Hook State they have.
Duty of Care: When healthy, take a Protection Hit to give nearby Survivors a temporary Haste boost.
Rapid Response: If you are not Exhausted, rush-exit a Locker to become Exhausted and briefly reveal the Killer’s Aura.
Positive Impact
Caring, compassionate, and determined, Orela is a force for good both in and outside of The Fog. To celebrate her release, Dead by Daylight is partnering with Montreal’s CHU Sainte-Justine’s Foundation, a charity that combines philanthropic dreams and pediatric advances at the Sainte-Justin Hospital.
Dead by Daylight supports the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation by donating all proceeds of the 2 Orela Paramedic skins in-game, sold from May 6 to May 27, in support of hospitalized youth.
Further bolstering Dead by Daylight’s fundraising effort, a community-centric activity, set to be introduced during the course of the campaign, will also be announced in the coming weeks.
Direct donations to Grow Beyond can also be made through the foundation’s website.
The Rift Revamped
Not to be forgotten, some spring cleaning is also taking place within The Archives – now called The Rift – beginning with the latest entry, out now, titled OVERGROWTH. Players will now be able to have all Quests (formerly Challenges) active at once, creating a quicker, easier, more streamlined experience for those working their way through The Rift while earning its rewards.
Releasing on May 6 as part of OVERGROWTH, is the Dark Overgrowth Collection featuring incredible floral fashions for Haddie Kaur and The Dredge, as well as The Nurse, Orela, Feng, and Adam Francis.
Spring Styles
Changing seasons always mark the perfect time to roll over one’s wardrobe, so Dead by Daylight is offering up a slew of new styles for players to collect.
On May 6, the Steady Pulse Collection will feature some alternate looks for Orela Rose, including the Day Shift Outfit that sees her don her classic EMT uniform and the Hacylon Dreams Outfit.
Arriving on May 13 is the return of Guardians & Shadows Collection. Otherworldly additions here include the Ghost Face Nevermore Outfit for The Ghost Face, the Rodent King Outfit for The Legion, as well as new looks for Yun-Jin and Gabriel.
New Outfits are also being added to the Chrysalis and Cats & Dogs Collection on May 20 and May 27, respectively. The Chrysalis Collection offers up unsettling new insectile looks for The Xenomorph and The Executioner, while the Cats & Dogs Collection sees Ellen Ripley rock a Jonesy-themed top along with new Outfits for Nicolas Cage and The Unknown.
Dead by Daylight: Steady Pulse is available now on all supported platforms.
