Jackson, NJ ─ May 22, 2015Six Flags Great Adventure will celebrate Memorial Day weekend with the season opening of Six Flags Hurricane Harbor water park May 23, and the season’s most anticipated concert in the Plymouth Rock Assurance® Arena May 24.

The 45-acre, elaborately-themed Hurricane Harbor water park is one of America’s largest, and features a million-gallon wave pool, one of the country’s longest “lazy rivers,” a giant, two-story family water playground, and more than 25 high-speed thrill slides. The park’s signature water slides include the six-slide Big Wave Racer, the giant Tornado and venomous King Cobra.

Guests can enjoy the delicious smell and taste of freshly-grilled food when Six Flags Hurricane Harbor debuts its new, outdoor grill this season. This open-air kitchen will feature giant turkey legs, hot dogs, hamburgers and Mexican-style steak. The park will also introduce an upgraded Cabana Cove, with new, luxury cabanas surrounded by a lush, tropical landscape.

On May 24, Becky G and duo Kalin and Myles will storm the Plymouth Rock Assurance® Arena at Six Flags Great Adventure, presented by Coca-Cola®. These internet sensations began their rise to popularity by posting videos of their music on YouTube. This concert has generated the most social media buzz of any in the park’s history, and is free with theme park admission, Season Pass and active Memberships. Seating is limited and available on a first come, first serve basis, so fans are encouraged to arrive early.

Guests can also challenge the new El Diablo looping coaster, now open. The giant, fiery red, looping coaster is the park’s 13th scream machine, and is located in the Mexican-themed Plaza del Carnaval section of the park. It features riders sitting in “face-off” (face-to-face) seats rocketing forward and backward pendulum style until the train gains enough momentum to complete a full revolution seven stories in the air. The coaster then kicks into high gear, completing full revolutions until it stops momentarily with riders suspended upside down, and then reverses direction for even more thrills. Guests can experience six gravity-defying inversions before the train finally comes to a stop. El Diablo riders must be at least 48 inches tall.
