Knott’s Announces Labor Day Weekend 2014 Festivities

BUENA PARK, CA (August 26, 2014) – This Labor Day weekend, Friday August 29 through Monday September 1, Knott’s Berry Farm will offer a sensational lineup of live entertainment, made-to-order BBQ in Calico Square and dozens of signature attractions the whole family can enjoy. Knott’s Soak City will also join in on the weekend celebration with open-air BBQs, splash-tastic water slides and a cool lazy river in which to relax and enjoy.

The special Labor Day weekend-only entertainment serves up family fun for a variety of ages and interests, including a spectacular Labor Day Sunday fireworks show. On August 31st, the Park’s skyline will glow with a brilliant fireworks show that can be seen for miles. Open-air BBQ grills in Calico Square will offer sizzling delectable fare. Guests can also take a journey through the newly refurbished Calico Mine Ride, and stroll through the Park’s Old West Ghost Town® or hang with the PEANUTS gang in a fresh Camp Snoopy, the land of high sierra fun!

4 Player Coop Announced for Dragon Age: Inquisition

August 27, 2014 – EDMONTON, Alberta – BioWare™, a division of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA), today announced the cooperative dungeon crawling multiplayer mode in Dragon Age™: Inquisition. Created alongside the massive single player campaign, this marks the first time gamers can play with their friends in the Dragon Age franchise. The multiplayer mode in Dragon Age: Inquisition will feature action-packed four player cooperative quests separate from the single player open world story.

“For Dragon Age: Inquisition, a special team of veteran developers from the Dragon Age and Mass Effect franchises created fun, fast-paced multiplayer gameplay that requires strategic teamwork on top of Inquisition’s party-based combat and extensive loot and crafting system,” said Aaryn Flynn, General Manager, BioWare. “It was early in the game’s development that we realized how much fun fans of our series were having, with so many players teaming up in Mass Effect 3’s multiplayer mode. We can’t wait to giveDragon Age fans an even bigger and deeper experience.”

In Dragon Age: Inquisition’s multiplayer mode, four players will team up across a range of multiplayer quests and objectives, exploring intricate dungeons and vanquishing all who oppose them. While dungeon-crawling, players will collect loot, salvage items, craft new weapons and armor, and unlock new characters. At launch, players will be able to unlock up to twelve characters across the three Inquisition classes of Warrior, Rogue and Mage, each playing a different and strategic role in multiplayer combat. Multiplayer in Dragon Age: Inquisition is a standalone experience from the open world story players will embark in the main game, and will not have an impact on single player progression or story.

Fans of Dragon Age: Inquisition have the chance to experience multiplayer August 29 – September 1 at PAX Prime in Seattle, Washington. Hands-on will be available in the XBox Booth located at the North Hall, 4th Floor, Booths 412, 422, 432.

August 26, 2014 — Midnight City is celebrating our first anniversary at PAX Prime 2014 in Seattle, WA by hosting the Costume Quest 2 ‘Trick or Treat’ Collector’s Challenge with Double Fine Productions and friends. Players must collect a complete set of four buttons you can ONLY find at our booths. Massive Chalice will be playable at Double Fine (#117) and Costume Quest 2, Slender: The Arrival and VIDEOBALL will be at Midnight City (#6808). Play each of the four games, collect their pins then visit Oni Press & Fangamer (#3808) to check out their upcoming comic Costume Quest: Invasion of the Candy Snatchers to finish off the set. SAN FRANCISCO (August 26, 2014) – SEGA® of America, Inc. is heading to 2014 PAX Prime in Seattle with its fall lineup in tow and ready to unleash on all in attendance. Gamers will be given the chance for hands-on demos of Alien: Isolation™, Sonic Boom™: Rise of Lyric, Sonic Boom™: Shattered Crystal and Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA™ F 2nd, creating a unique experience for fans as they get a detailed look at the hottest games of the year.

Coming off the heels of its national debut at San Diego Comic-Con, Alien: Isolation will be showcased in amazing, spine-tingling fashion at Booth #232 with game demos in a custom-designed, giant-sized Alien egg pod. The pod creates a self-contained, fear-inducing, immersive gaming experience for the newest title of the Alien™ franchise. As gamers tremble in fear, the Alien: Isolation booth will have a live on-site stream feeding on-lookers and fans the POV gaming perspective, prepping gamers for the intense experience before they enter one of several gaming stations.

To help extend the demo experience onsite, SEGA will host a “Survive the Demo Competition,” giving gamers the chance to win exclusive limited edition Alien jackets (while supplies last). Alien: Isolation is available worldwide on October 7, 2014 for Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Windows PC, Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft and PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system.

August 26, 2014 (Rockville, MD) Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax® Media company, today revealed the talented cast lending their voices to The Evil Within™, a survival horror game developed at Tango Gameworks under the direction of legendary game designer and studio head, Shinji Mikami. The Evil Within cast includes Academy Award nominee Jackie Earle Haley (“Lincoln,” “Watchmen,” “A Nightmare on Elm Street”), Screen Actors Guild Award nominee Jennifer Carpenter (“Dexter,” “Quarantine,” “The Exorcism of Emily Rose”), and film and television star Anson Mount (“Hell on Wheels,” “Safe”).

The Evil Within, out October 14th in North America, embodies the meaning of pure survival horror. Highly-crafted environments, horrifying anxiety, and an intricate story are combined to create an immersive world that will bring players to the height of tension. With limited resources at their disposal, players will fight for survival and experience profound fear in this perfect blend of horror and action.

Academy Award nominee Jackie Earle Haley, who is no stranger to horror, having recently played Freddy Krueger in the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street, lends his voice to The Evil Within’s main antagonist, Ruvik.  Making his video game debut, Anson Mount, best known for his role as Cullen Bohannon in AMC’s Hell on Wheels, assumes the role of lead protagonist Sebastian Castellanos. Players assume the role of Sebastian, a veteran police detective, throughout the game in their terrifying struggle for survival.

Rounding out the cast is Jennifer Carpenter, well-known for her role as Debra Morgan in the hit Showtime series Dexter, who plays Juli Kidman, Sebastian’s Junior Detective partner. As part of recently announced Season Pass plans, players will be able to assume the role of Juli Kidman in post-launch content to experience The Evil Within from an entirely new perspective.

“One of the most crucial elements to any successful survival horror game is the setting and sound, which includes the depth and authenticity of the voice acting,” said Mikami. “We brought together a great cast of experienced actors to help ensure that players really believe our characters’ emotions and the tension they feel in every scene.”

In The Evil Within, Detective Sebastian Castellanos and his partners are called in to investigate a gruesome mass murder. After seeing the slaughter of fellow officers, Sebastian is ambushed and knocked unconscious. When he awakens, he finds himself in a deranged world where hideous creatures wander among the dead. Facing unimaginable terror, and fighting for survival, Sebastian embarks on a frightening journey to unravel what’s behind this evil force.
