Austin, TX – Thursday, September 11, 2014 – A new tradition of terror lurches to life! This October, the Alamo is serving up an all-new banquet of cinematic mayhem for ghouls in need of bumps, thrills, chills and demented pleasures galore with its first annual HORROR MOVIE MARATHON!!

On Saturday, October 25, select Alamo locations nationwide will host eyeball-melting, sleep-depriving journeys into terror with back-to-back screenings of four horror “classicks.” Each location’s unique lineup of films will remain a secret until just before show time guaranteeing ultimate tricks ‘n’ treats.

“For the first time ever, all of our theatrical markets will unite in celebration of one of the Alamo’s most beloved genres. We can’t wait to get collectively terrified!” said Sarah Pitre, Director of Alamo Programming and Promotions.

Between films, attendees can expect specially curated pre-shows oozing with spine-mangling horrific gems and rarities, as well as special surprises between films and the materialization of a special guest. Plus, prizes will be awarded for the most fiendish costumes.

“We’ve been pulling out all of the stops to guarantee a night of ghoulish delights,” said Pitre. “And the surprise guests are going to be a total scream. Keeping a secret this good is tough, but our lips are sealed!”
