July 8, 2014 (Rockville, MD) — Bethesda Softworks® and the American Red Cross are partnering to host “The Good Within Blood Drive” during QuakeCon® 2014, North America’s largest Bring-Your-Own-Computer (BYOC) LAN party and gaming festival. The blood drive, which was inspired by The Evil Within™, out October 21 from Bethesda Softworks and Tango Gameworks™, will take place at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas on Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19. Donors who take part in “The Good Within Blood Drive” at QuakeCon will receive an official The Evil Within chill pack to honor the donation.

“QuakeCon has a great group of attendees who we think will want to help the community by donating blood,” said Pete Hines , VP of PR and Marketing,  Bethesda Softworks. “The American Red Cross is a terrific organization, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to QuakeCon.”

“The Red Cross is grateful for Bethesda Softworks’ invitation to host a blood drive during such a critical time,” said Jan Hale, External Communications Manager at the American Red Cross. “The summer months are a particularly difficult period for blood collections and being a part of this event gives us more opportunities to help save lives.”

QuakeCon 2014, the ultimate video game festival, will take place at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas on Thursday, July 17 through Sunday, July 20. Attendees who would like to donate can sign up with American Red Cross representatives in the Topaz room l during blood drive hours: Friday, July 18, 2014 11 am – 5 pm and Saturday, July 19, 2014 11 am – 5 pm. **Donors must be at least 17 years old and meet American Red Cross requirements for donating blood, which can be found athttp://www.redcrossblood.org/donating-blood/eligibility-requirements
