The Joy Factory’s Zip Mini Touch-n-go charging station retails for $49.95 and features sleek style, the ability to charge up to four devices at once, and magnetic charging leads for quick connect/disconnect.

Using the Zip Mini Touch-n-go is very simple. Just plug the charging disc into the AC adapter by way of an included USB cable and you are ready to rock. In order to charge a device, you will need to use a “Zip Tail” charging lead. The Joy Factory has included an Apple 30-pin lead and a micro USB lead in the box. Our box did not include one, but the website states that they are now shipping a micro USB to Lightning adapter in new boxes. The charging disc features a shiny, black exterior with four divots on its top-side. These divots are where the Zip Tails will magnetically-connect to it. The idea is rather cool and functions well. Since they are magnetic, you can pull the device away from being charged with next to no effort at all. Simply pull it away, use it, then swing it back and let the Zip Tail magnetically connect once more.

The biggest problem with the Zip Mini Touch-n-go is that the two included Zip Tails are super-short in length and make serious device clutter in the are around the charging disc. I would have liked to see the longer Zip Tails included in the box. Charging up my devices at a convention center or hotel – especially during long pressers, I like being able to work on them while they charge. With such short Zip Tails, that is not a possibility.

As a second use of the Zip Mini Touch-n-go charging station, the AC adapter is one of those USB port models instead of hard-wired to the cable. The unit can pump out 2.1A of power, so if you do not want to attach your device to the charging disc, you could just plug in its USB cable directly to the adapter.

Overall, the Zip Mini Touch-n-go charging station is an excellent purchase for people look to charge their gadgets, quickly and easily. Just be aware that you may want to purchase the longer charging leads as the included ones are a bit on the short side.
