World of Warcraft Faction Transfer Service – Activated


The much talked-about faction transfer service in World of Warcraft has gone live. For a scant $30 dollars, you can take your Horde character to the Alliance or vice versa. In our recent interview with World of Warcraft’s Greg Street, he told us that players would have to swicth races to one that had their class available if their current race/class combo was not allowed by the new faction.

See What Secret Society You Belong to in The Secret World

The website for Funcom’s upcoming MMO, The Secret World, was just updated with a test to see what secret society you would be best suited for. It asks you a series of cryptic questions and then selects you as best for the Templar, Dragon, or Illuminati. After this, you can opt to be one of the three no matter your recommended results and also sign up to possibly win beta access as well as some other goodies.

Valve to Clean House in Team Fortress 2


Valve announced today that they will purge any and all items that have been acquired in Team Fortress 2 through a third party idling applications. Valve usually has a no tolerance view on any type of cheating or abusing of the system, but they did not have a policy like this prior to making this announcement. This time, they are only removing the items that were gained by cheating, next time it will be all items in the individual’s inventory. Valve claims that this will only affect 4.5% of the Team Fortress 2 population.

The good news, however, is that if you are one of those people, like myself, that never used the idling applications, you will be given a new hat. Valve has also increased the chance on people earning hats in game overall.

Guitar Hero 5 Skydiving Launch Trailer


Activision has released a new trailer for their newly-released Guitar Hero 5 featuring some skydiving would-be rockers. GH5 features over 80 tracks in the box as well as the ability to import your previous Guitar Hero game tracks. In case you dont have any of those games anymore, take heart, you can also purchase some of the over 150 downloadable tracks for the game as well. Thats a lot of rockin’.

New Spyborgs Elevator Battle Gameplay Video

Capcom has released a new gameplay trailer for their upcoming Nintendo Wii title, Spyborgs. Due out on September 22nd the game promises fast and frenetic beat ’em up combat with cyborg secret agents. Spyborgs allows players to choose one of three characters for each of the game’s levels and supports two-player coop play.

Firmware 3.0 For Playstation 3 Available Now

To celebrate the launch of the 120 GB PS3 Slim Sony has released the latest update to the Playstation 3 firmware bumping it up to version 3.0. The update provides a nice list of changes including a brand new ‘What’s New’ section and a revamped XMB or Xross Media Bar. See PhysX in Action with Batman: Arkham Asylum on the PC


Eidos has released a new trailer for the upcoming PC version of Batman: Arkham Asylum showing off the game’s use of Nvidia GPU’s PhysX capabilities. The trailer is quite impressive, showing a ton of particle effects just not seen in the console versions of the game. The PC version of Arkham is due out on September 15th.

New Need for Speed Shift TV Spot Shows Cockpit Footage


EA has released the TV spot that is currently airing to the online masses the other day and here it is for your viewing enjoyment. NfS: Shift comes out September 15th across North America for most major platforms and features a cool new ‘virtual cockpit’ experience.
