Audio Brand AIAIAI Unveils New Eco-Friendly Packaging Measures

COPENHAGEN, MAY 27, 2020 — Copenhagen-based audio design brand AIAIAI today announced new initiatives to deepen its commitment to sustainably designed products, to measurably reduce the company’s carbon footprint related to product materials and packaging

From its founding in 2006, AIAIAI committed to sustainable design through its modular headphone system which enables music makers and listeners to enjoy long-lasting use of the company’s products by replacing individual components of a headset rather than purchasing an entire replacement of the unit. The company has also committed to sustainability from the start with a timeless minimalistic design true to the company’s Scandinavian heritage and independent of ever-fluctuating audio product design trends.

Now, AIAIAI intends to lead sustainable design in the music-making world in even more impressive measures, particularly with regard to product materials and packaging, to be in full effect by the end of the 2020 calendar year.

Summary of New Initiatives

  1. Product Packaging Redesigned with 100% FSC-Certified Materials
    1. Packaging for AIAIAI headphones will now be produced with 100% FSC-certified materials.
    2. Average ∆ CO2 Reduction Across All Packaging: 80%
  2. Product Materials Reimagined for CO2 Reduction
    1. Headphones will use high-grade recycled plastic as part of the core components of the headband and earphone casings. Consumers will notice no change in durability, comfort or overall listening experience.
    2. Average ∆ CO2 Reduction Across All Products: 50%
  3. New Collaborations with Industry Partners for Sustainable Product Innovation
    1. AIAIAI is forming new partnerships with music artists, record labels and festivals to further advance the brand’s innovative commitment to sustainable product development. Collaborations around adaptive reuse of materials for product and packaging development are among various other initiatives under consideration.

Sustainability has been a key focus in our headphone design for the last 10 years,” said Frederik Jorgensen, Founder of AIAIAI. “This next stage of innovation to our products will reduce our CO2 emissions by more than 50 percent, a big leap forward in audio product design, which we are very proud of. We know there is still a long way to go, but with our continued efforts, we are inspired and committed to keep doing things better and smarter.”

The newly redesigned AIAIAI packaging will enter circulation beginning June 1, 2020, in all globally distributed products. Product manufacturing will fully incorporate new materials by year’s end. The company will announce individual partnerships focused around sustainability initiatives in the coming months.

Xbox Series X Director Touts Console Backwards Compatibility

May 28, 2020 – Today, on Xbox Wire, Jason Ronald, Partner Director of Program Management for the Xbox Platform Team, further detailed the Xbox team’s journey to make Xbox Series X the most compatible console ever and discussed the innovations that make thousands of backward compatible games play better than ever before, including our new HDR reconstruction technique and Quick Resume.

Jason also revealed new capabilities made possible by the power and advancements of Xbox Series X that will enable select titles to run at higher resolutions or double the frame rate.

From the Xbox Wire Post:

“Thousands of developers from across the globe are currently creating the next generation of transformative games, many of which can only be realized through the power and innovation of the Xbox Series X. Led by Halo Infinite, our 15 Xbox Game Studios teams are hard at work creating the biggest and best line up of exclusives in Xbox history. We are incredibly excited to show many of the new games in development for Xbox Series X soon.”

“Our compatibility journey began with the announcement of Xbox 360 Backwards Compatibility coming to Xbox One at E3 2015. I clearly remember that first magical experience of jumping into one of my favorite Xbox 360 games, Final Fantasy XIII, and instantly resuming where I had left off years before as if no time had passed at all…Maintaining compatibility presents a massive technical challenge as fundamental system and chip architectures advance across generations. Developers highly optimize their games to the unique capabilities and performance of a console to provide the best experience for their players. To make the Xbox Series X our most compatible console ever required both significant innovation in the design of the custom processor as well as the unique design of the Xbox operating system and hypervisor at the heart of our next generation platform.”

“With all of the additional power and advancements of the Xbox Series X, the compatibility team now has a veritable playground of new capabilities to innovate and push the limits of game preservation and enhancement. The compatibility team has invented brand new techniques that enable even more titles to run at higher resolutions and image quality while still respecting the artistic intent and vision of the original creators. We are also creating whole new classes of innovations including the ability to double the frame rate of a select set of titles from 30 fps to 60 fps or 60 fps to 120 fps.”

PARIS — May 27, 2020 — Blackbird Interactive and Focus Home Interactive’s new sandbox spaceship salvaging game Hardspace: Shipbreaker is coming to PC via Steam Early Access on June 16 — but you can learn everything you’ll need to know about cutting up derelict vessels in orbit right now with Hardspace’s new gameplay overview trailer!
