SNK PLAYMORE USA has announced the release of an updated version of Metal Slug Touch on the Apple App Stor for the iPad and iPhone/iPod Touch platforms. The game retails for $1.99 as a limited time launch price. This updated version features two different control schemes: the ‘fixed’ and ‘flexible’ pad options, as well as use of available device accelerometers.

EA has sent over a new trailer for the limited edition of their upcoming racer, SHIFT 2. The game is due out on March 29th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC platforms and features over 130 different vehicles and 100 different tracks to race on. EA has also promised a new focus on racing realism. The limited edition will ship with include three exclusive vehicles as well as 40 addition career events.
Electronic Arts has announced that their upcoming The Sims 3 will be available during the Nintendo 3DS launch window. The handheld variant of the game will take full advantage of the Nintendo 3DS’ 3D display technology as well as implementing ‘karma powers’ with the device’s input options. For instance, you can create an earthquake by shaking the handheld or cause a ‘bouquet of butterflies’ by blowing into the 3DS microphone. The game will also make use of the Nintendo 3DS facial recognition system.

From the Whiskey Tango Foxtrot department comes this poster for Triple-H’s upcoming ‘film’, The Chaperone. Due out in select theaters on February 18th, the creepy subtitle for this one pretty much sums it up: ‘Her dad did time…now he wants quality time’ – Seriously?!? Creepy! So creepy it could actually have been the tag line for a horror movie that probably would have been far more entertaining.
Anyway, I will pass on this one.
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has released a new gameplay trailer from their upcoming Mortal Kombat, featuring the character of Mileena as she tears apart her oponents – mainly, her sister Kitana. Mortal Kombat is a reboot of the franchise due out in April on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms. A Windows PC release has been rumored, but not officially announced.
SEGA and The Creative Assembly have released a new campaign trailer for their upcoming epic strategy game, Total War Shogun 2. The game is due out on March 15th only on Windows PCs. The game is a sequel, picking up after the events of Shogun Total War.
Electronic Arts has sent out a new teaser trailer for their upcoming Need for Speed SHIFT 2 Unleashed, which is set to release on March 29th for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Windows PC platforms. SHIFT 2 focuses a new emphasis on realism and features over 130 drivable automobiles.
Sony Online Entertainment has announced that today at 3:30pm PT, they will be starting up two new PvP servers for their recently-released MMO, DC Universe Online. The new PC server is named ‘Cry for Blood,’ while the new PS3 server is named ‘Blood Will Run.’ This increases the total number of servers in North America from 14 to 16.
DC Universe Online is an MMO where players take on the roles of heroes and villains in the world of DC Comics.

Hudson Entertainment has announced it will be bringing 10 classic games from the days of the TurboGrafx-16 console to the PlayStation Network for play on both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable platforms. The games include such titles as Alien Crush and Bomberman ’94, and will be available later this Winter.
