Forsaken World Release Date Announced

Perfect World Entertainment has announce the official release date for their upcoming free-to-play MMO, Forsaken World. The game will go live on March 23rd, 2011 on the Windows PC platform. Also released today was an additional video dev diary talking about some of the game’s locations.

New Screenshots from The Undergarden


Atari has released some new screenshots from their upcoming PlayStation Network puzzler, The Undergarden. The game puts players in an hypnotic, iridescent world where they have to solve various puzzles. The Undergarden is already out on the Xbox 360 and PC platforms, and will be available on the PSN ‘extremely soon’, as one game spokesperson put it.

Call of Duty: Black Ops First Strike Zombie Poster, New Screens

Activision and Treyarch have released some new screenshots from their upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops DLC pack: First Strike. The DLC pack is due out on February 1st and includes new multiplayer maps as well as one additional Zombies map. Speaking of zombies, also released today is a nice zombie poster for the game.

QuakeCon 2011 Dates Announced

Bethesda Softworks and id Software have announced that the 2011 QuakeCon festival and party will run from August 4th through 7th at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, TX. The event will feature tournaments, previews, and a lot more. It is B-Y-O-C (Bring-Your-Own-Computer) and they have spaces for thousands of gamers to bring their rigs in for play.

QuakeCon 2011 is free to get in.

Guild Wars 2 Preview Video

Champions Online Begins Free to Play Service

Cryptic Studios super-hero MMO, Champions Online, began its free-to-play service today. The game allows players to create a hero and go on all of the adventures the base, original game offered at no cost. If you would like to proceed into the special ‘adventure packs’, then you will have to fork over some cash. Also announced was that the Cryptic Points used for in-game micro-transactions is merging with Atari’s point system, becoming ‘Atari Tokens’. The company has stated this conversion is a 1:1 process, meaning 1 Cryptic Point is equal to 1 Atari Token.

Champsions Online was released in late 2009.

WWE All Stars Box Art Revealed

THQ has revealed the box art for its upcoming WWE title, WWE All Stars. Due out March 29th in North America and April 1st in Europe, the game features an arcade-style of gameplay and over-the-top action (hence the exaggerated characters). WWE All Stars is being developed by THQ’s San Diego studio, which was acquired from Midway Games in 2009.

Dungeons Official Website Launch

Kalypso Media has launched the official website for their upcoming strategy title, Dungeons. The game puts players in charge of running one of those traditional RPG dungeons, fending off would-be ‘heroes’ from invading it. Dungeons is due out on February 8th on Windows PCs.

Europa Universalis III Divine Wind Out Now on Steam

Paradox Interactive has announced that their latest entry in the Europa Universalis series has hit the Steam platform on Windows PCs. Europa Universalis II Divine Wind retails for $19.99 and puts players in command of the empires of the Far East.

Mortal Kombat Release Date Announced, Box Art Revealed

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced the release date and revealed the box art for NetherRealm’s upcoming Mortal Kombat reboot, Mortal Kombat. The game is scheduled to hit stores, worldwide, on April 19th on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms. The game sees the return of many series favorites from the first three Mortal Kombat games in an alternate re-telling of the IP’s mythos. So far, seventeen playable characters have been announced, with more to come.

Mortal Kombat is rated RP for Rating Pending by the ESRB.
