Pearl Abyss today announced the global launch of its new open-world action-adventure game, Crimson Desert, released worldwide on March 19 at 23:00 (CET).

Crimson Desert is available on multiple platforms, including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Apple Mac, Epic Games Store and ROG Xbox Ally. The game features voiceovers in Korean, English, and Chinese, along with subtitles in 14 languages.

The title is an open-world action-adventure that follows the journey of its protagonist, Kliff, and his Greymane companions. Players embark on a quest across the vast, seamless continent of Pywel to reclaim the Greymanes’ lost homeland and reunite their scattered allies, but realize along the way that a bigger threat looms in Pywel.

Powered by Pearl Abyss’ proprietary BlackSpace Engine, Crimson Desert delivers highly realistic visuals, dynamic combat, and an immersive open-world experience. Players can engage in a wide range of combat styles using swords, shields, spears, greatswords, axes, ranged weapons, and more, as well as hand-to-hand techniques such as kicks, grapples, and combo attacks. Character progression is shaped by player choice through exploration, resource gathering, and boss encounters.

The game also features diverse traversal mechanics, including Kliff’s abilities, gliding, climbing, and various mounts such as dragons and mechanical devices, allowing players to explore the world with a high degree of freedom.
