Incuvo is excited to announce the expansion of Green Hell VR to the Meta Quest + subscription service! This challenging jungle survival adventure, launched on Meta Quest 2 in April 2022, can now be enjoyed by even more virtual reality players on Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest 3. “The decision to bring Green Hell VR to the Meta Quest+ service was easy,” says Incuvo’s CEO Andrzej Wychowaniec. “Not only will more players experience the game, but with the addition of co-op’s release in Q4, they’ll be able to play together.”
While Incuvo is excited to bring Green Hell VR to new players through Meta Quest +, they are aware that many existing fans are waiting for an update about co-op gameplay on their favorite systems. Today, Incuvo is pleased to confirm that co-op multiplayer is coming to Green Hell VR on PSVR2, Meta Quest 2, and Meta Quest 3 in Q4 2024! Check out some cool ways co-op will be implemented in Green Hell VR below!
COMBAT & HUNTING
Supporting each other during a fight, either with melee weapons like an axe or ranged weapons like a bow, can increase the group’s chances for survival, especially against the jungle’s most deadly opponents like jaguars. Even in a bigger group, it’s always better to put in the effort and prepare meticulously before a fight.
HEALING
In terms of healing mechanics, the team will focus on having all diseases from single-player mode present in the co-op mode, making sure that these will be reflected and visible for other players (e.g., one player is poisoned, and their hand looks differently, so other players can see this and offer support).
Survival can be challenging, so you must care for each other by healing, feeding, and drinking. For example, when wounds become life-threatening, and players lose all their energy (and, consequently, lose consciousness/pass out), you and your teammates can revive them by binding their wounds, shortening their “sleep” mode. Another example would be players can spot and remove leeches from their friends’ bodies during jungle and river exploration.
BUILDING
Green Hell VR wants every player to be able to contribute to the building process (e.g., everyone bringing sticks to prepare a fireplace together), with mechanics similar to those found in the single-player mode. The development team is working on having building materials easily snap into place on the ghostly frames of the item being built.
FEEDING AND DRINKING
The team plans to improve animation and UI elements for feeding and drinking to ensure they remain smooth and consistent. In addition to healing each other, players can seamlessly support their friends with food and water, helping them replenish lost energy.
This can be very useful if someone is revived and fed, being immediately able to come back better than ever!
