Indie game developer Vincent Lade is proud to announce an updated playable demo and new details of his upcoming survival horror game Jawbreaker, a thrilling and terrifying first-person gameplay experience challenging you to run, hide and fight in a frightening gang-infested society on the verge of collapse. Vincent has produced and developed games since 2018 and is no stranger to the genre as his previous credentials include Deathbloom (chapter 1 & 2, 2019-2020), The Swine (2020), Harthorn (2020) and Witching Hour (2022), all based on short horror stories turned into games. Scheduled for worldwide release on PC via STEAM™ and the Epic® Game store in March of 2024, Jawbreaker features a dystopian vision of the United States post 2028.
Jawbreaker takes place after the devastating “Great Economic Collapse of 2028”, where survival is the only thing that matters! The average person is compelled to join armed groups, engaging in battles for resources and control over what were once the cities and towns of the United States. You belong to a small gang based in New Citadel City, and your bunker’s supplies are dwindling. You’ve been chosen to venture into the concrete ruins on rumours of an unlooted police station on the edge of town—a high-risk, high-reward mission. After breaking in through an unguarded entrance, a sense of dread fills your mind as you realise who has taken refuge in this station and question whether the entire thing was a setup by your own gang…
Jawbreaker is a game of survival; the Faceless Gang are hunting you, and you must run, hide, or kill those standing in your way. Push through the station while scavenging for supplies and a way to escape but prepare yourself, because once the sun sets, the real danger begins… Search for weapons to defend yourself, though noise such as gunfire will give away your location. Hide under tables, in lockers, between shelves, or shadows and use stealth to your advantage to progress. Explore a true terrifying dystopian vision of the United States in a dangerous environment featuring unexpected surprises, secrets, and loot to collect. There are multiple endings included in the game and your survival instinct and stealth skills will be critical to your success.
