New trains and new routes mark the arrival of the latest game in the Train Sim World franchise with high-speed passenger trains, Alpine scenery and an iconic steam locomotive all making their way into Train Sim World 4: Deluxe Edition – out today on PlayStation, Xbox and PC platforms.
Also arriving are plenty of new and improved gameplay features. Free Roam and Photo Mode provide two huge changes to gameplay, with the former allowing the spawning and de-spawning of trains anywhere on a route and plotting paths to any point on the map. Once on their way, those with a keen eye for visuals can pause the game in Photo Mode and capture the perfect railfan shots for their own collection, or to share with others.

Railfans will enjoy the new routes for this iteration with the arterial East Coast Main Line between Doncaster and Peterborough featuring LNER’s high-speed Azuma train. For the States, California’s Antelope Valley Line from Los Angeles through to Lancaster makes use of all-American diesel power in Metrolink’s F125 locomotive.
Europe is represented by a brand-new country for Train Sim World with Austria and the Vorarlberg Line winding its way through stunning mountains and Alpine towns. Popular national operator ÖBB brings its 4024 Talent EMU to whisk passengers across the border between Austria and Germany.
Train Sim World 4: Deluxe Edition brings with it the standout railway content, with the inclusion of the world- famous Flying Scotsman steam locomotive, courtesy of the National Railway Museum and the state-of-the-art Railpool BR 193 Vectron for use on an additional route that’s included – the upgraded Dresden – Riesa Add-on.
Operating this wide range of trains and routes is made easier with the introduction of Ease of Access functions, like simpler locomotives in Training Center, scoring changes and accessibility improvements, as well as haptic controller functionality for console players.
For PC players on Steam and Epic Games Store, the introduction of the fabled PC Editor (beta) means that skilled and ambitious players can use the same development tools as Dovetail Games to dream up their own gameplay, trains and even new routes. And new routes are already in the works, with Partner Programme Developer Just Trains formally announcing their Blackpool-Preston-Ormskirk route Add-on and a future Austrian route also confirmed by Dovetail Games in their Dovetail Direct livestream last month.
