June 27, 2019 – Another Sight is more than just a video game. Your journey begins with darkness – not because you travel in the dark, but because of a tragic accident of your protagonist. You have almost completely lost your sight, and there is icy darkness everywhere around you. The noises and sounds of darkness make you panic, but wait… not everything is as dark as it seems. Someone is at your side who will accompany you on your journey and be your eyesight. Your guardian angel turns out to be a cat who uses her unique abilities to experience an exciting adventure full of incredible emotions and unique puzzles at your side. Your animal friend illuminates the darkness around you and conjures a world full of shapes and colours for you. Only together, you can make the journey through the darkness and get back to daylight…
With Another Sight, Toplitz Productions and Lunar Great Wall Studios are embarking on a new and unique topic that picks up on many taboos firmly anchored in today’s society and deals with a topic that at first seems very tragic. In the course of his adventure, however, the player learns that not everything that seems dark is dark. Another Sight plays with emotions, teaches virtues like true friendship and familiarizes both hardcore adventure fans as well as casual players and families playfully and affectionately with the topic “blindness” and the importance of true friendship.
For this very reason, it was decided to work closely with the Institut dei Ciechi di Milano to understand life in darkness and to interactively depict the challenges, peculiarities and emotions of the game. “It quickly became clear to us that Kit was our protagonist something very special. She should, through the loss of her sight, represent the special and special abilities and sensations of a blind person,” explains Marco Ponte (CEO), Lunar Great Wall Studios. Another Sight is more than just a video game – it touches, it playfully connects social classes, and it shows that not everything is always light or dark. The colours in between make the adventures of life “special”.
I appreciate this video game very much because it sensitises people to the potential of blind people and promotes a different perspective,” explains Dott Franco Lisi, Director Scient. “The eyes are not the only way to perceive reality. This game opens a small window to view another world in a positive way”.
“When we first saw Another Sight, it was clear to us that it would fit perfectly into our portfolio. Toplitz Productions stands for “games with heart and soul”. Another Sight embodies both, takes the player into a beautiful world full of contrasts, where you forget the norms for a few hours and experience the value of friendship in your world with Kit,” explains Matthias Wünsche, CEO Toplitz-Productions.
