Looks like Activision has found yet another way to turn revenue from their popular Call of Duty franchise. Starting with the release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, Call of Duty ELITE will be the multiplayer service that gamers will play on. This service will offer various, still-unannounced benefits for a monthly fee. According to the Wall Street Journal, some of these benefits will be performance analytics as well as  other social media-type options. According to Infinity Ward’s PR guy, Robert Bowling, gamers will not have to pay for anything they did not have to before the ELITE service.

@fourzerotwo: Absolutely not. Nothing is being charged for that was previously free. More details coming in the morning. Give it a read.

Activision will be sending official details out tomorrow morning at which time everything will, hopefully, be explained.
