HASBRO Announces Reveal Your Shield Celebration for Transformers

PAWTUCKET, R.I., April 20 2017 Today Hasbro, Inc. (NASDAQ:HAS), announced “REVEAL YOUR SHIELD,” a TRANSFORMERS celebration that will offer fans five days of TRANSFORMERS content and product reveals, beginning on April 24th with the release of Hasbro’s first wave of toys and consumer products inspired by the TRANSFORMERS: THE LAST KNIGHT film. Throughout the week fans will be encouraged to “reveal their shield,” using social media, TRANSFORMERS.COM or the official TRANSFORMERS mobile app to declare their allegiance to the Autobots or Decepticons.

Universal Cinema to Host Fate of the Furious Cars and Props Display

Universal City, California – April 18, 2017 – Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk become headquarters for Universal Pictures’ blockbuster new movie The Fate of the Furious, inviting fans to see the No. 1 film in the world at the all-new Universal Cinema, get up close and personal with original prop cars and costume displays and cap off the experience aboard the theme park’s exciting thrill ride, The Fast & Furious—Supercharged, which features stars from the original film series.

As the one-stop destination for all things Fast & Furious, Universal CityWalk’s new state-of-the art Universal Cinema offers movie buffs the best seat in the house, where they can kick back on ultra-plush recliner seats in Hollywood screening-room quality theatres to watch their favorite characters reunite on the silver screen.

Camera Obscura Gets Release Date

NEW YORK, NY – April 11, 2017 – Chiller Films is pleased to announce the release of the anticipated horror thriller CAMERA OBSCURA, in theaters on June 9 and on VOD and Digital HD on June 13. The film is written by Aaron B. Koontz and Cameron Burns and marks the theatrical directing debut of Koontz. Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2 Gets Release Date

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (March 28, 2017) – Wreck-It Ralph is escaping out of his arcade and into the expansive universe of the internet next year when “Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2” hits the big screen. Dave Hollis, head of distribution for The Walt Disney Studios, revealed the much-anticipated sequel’s title and told CinemaCon attendees that Jane Lynch and Jack McBrayer would be returning to the roster.

Also returning are the team behind the original “Wreck-It Ralph,” who won an Oscar® last month for Walt Disney Animation Studios’ billion-dollar-box-office-blockbuster “Zootopia.” Directors Rich Moore (“Zootopia,” “Wreck-It Ralph,” “The Simpsons”) and Phil Johnston (writer, “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Zootopia,” “Cedar Rapids”), and producer Clark Spencer (“Zootopia,” “Wreck-It Ralph,” “Bolt”) are hard at work on the movie. “To take these characters we love and have them enter the enormous world of the internet has given us so much to explore,” said Moore. “Our production team has been hard at work designing a world that takes something we all think we know – the internet – but shows it in a whole new, imaginative way.”

When “Wreck-It Ralph” opened on Nov. 2, 2012, it turned in the highest opening weekend ever for a Walt Disney Animation Studios film at the time of release. Nominated for an Oscar® and Golden Globe® for best animated feature, “Wreck-It Ralph” won the PGA Award for outstanding producer of an animated theatrical motion picture as well as five Annie Awards, including best animated feature, director, cast and screenplay. Disney Pixar Announce Nationwide Tour for CARS 3

BURBANK, Calif. (March 21, 2017) — Disney•Pixar’s “Cars 3” is hitting the road this month with Road to the Races, a nationwide tour inviting fans of #95 to gear up for the upcoming big-screen release. Life-size, character look-alikes of five-time Piston-Cup champion Lightning McQueen, tech-savvy trainer Cruz Ramirez and the sleek next-gen racer Jackson Storm will be rolling into 27 cities coast to coast to celebrate the new movie, which opens June 16, 2017.

“We are going to kick off the tour at Disney Springs in Walt Disney World on Thursday, March 23,” said Lylle Breier, senior vice president, worldwide marketing partnerships and special events for the Walt Disney Studios. “There will be fun activities for the whole family—plus a sneak peek of the movie.”

Fans will be able to catch a sneak peek of the movie in the Cinetransformer Mobile Movie Theater. Visitors will also be able to take photos with the life-size character cars.

Resident Evil: Vendetta One Night Only Cinema Event

DENVER – March 20, 2017 – Based on the worldwide videogame phenomenon, the CG animated film “RESIDENT EVIL: VENDETTA” will hit movie theaters worldwide this year. Despicable Me 3 Official Trailer 2

The team who brought you Despicable Me and the biggest animated hits of 2013 and 2015, Despicable Me 2 and Minions, returns to continue the adventures of Gru, Lucy, their adorable daughters—Margo, Edith and Agnes—and the Minions. Despicable Me 3, directed by Pierre Coffin and Kyle Balda, co-directed by Eric Guillon, and written by Cinco Paul & Ken Daurio, will be released in theaters on June 30, 2017.

The animated film is produced by Illumination’s Chris Meledandri and Janet Healy, and executive produced by Chris Renaud.

Joining Steve Carell and Kristen Wiig in Despicable Me 3 is Emmy, Tony and Grammy Award winner Trey Parker, co-creator of Comedy Central’s global phenomenon South Park and the Broadway smash The Book of Mormon. Parker voices the role of villain Balthazar Bratt, a former child star who’s grown up to become obsessed with the character he played in the ‘80s, and proves to be Gru’s most formidable nemesis to date.

The Thing at The Great Horror Movie Night

I had heard about the Great Horror Movie night from a newsletter that went out from Ten Thirtyone Productions, the company behind the LA Haunted Hayride and Great Horror Campout events. While the idea of going out to Griffith Park’s Old Zoo and watching a classic horror flick on a big screen sounded like a lot of fun, my schedule just never permitted getting out to LA on a Friday evening. Then it happened: Friday, March 3 was free and the folks at the Great Horror Movie night invited us to come out to see what it was all about. The best part of the screening was that it was a screening of John Carpenter’s seminal horror classic, The Thing!

We drove out to LA in the late afternoon/early evening and arrived at the designated parking areas about 5:45 PM. The “doors” (remember, it’s a park) open at 6:00 PM, so we were right on time to camp out a good sitting spot. the area designated for seating is spacious and at an incline so that no matter where you sit, you have a very clear view of the large, inflatable projector screen. We were lucky enough to get tickets for the reserved seating area right in front, but would have been completely happy even if we were in the back. Seating is on a lawn and you should definitely bring some blankets, pillows, or small chairs to sit upon. There are chair requirements for everyone’s viewing enjoyment. Chairs can’t be taller than 21 inches at the seat back and a maximum of 6 inches off the ground at the seat. Taller chairs are not prohibited outright, but you would be asked to move them to the side of the viewing area so you don’t block anyone’s vantage.

At 7:30 PM, the movie was set to start and, about that time, the headmaster (who is a character from the Great Horror Campout) came out in front of the screen and entertained the crowd with some trivia games and prize giveaways. Prizes included candy, other snacks, and even free tickets to upcoming Great Horror Movie Nights! After introducing the movie, the lighting was dimmed and the movie began with some original, campy trailers (showing the upcoming films of the Great Horror Movie Night). After the screening, the headmaster came back out and thanked everyone for coming out.

Snacks and other concessions were available at the old zoo’s “caves” which, a long time ago, used to house animals for the enjoyment of zoo guests. Concessions were decent, and I would recommend supporting the event by purchasing them on-site. For those of you nervous about being out in the Old Zoo after dark, the event made sure to have security and other staff on-site to keep everything running smoothly.

Every Great Horror Movie Night also features something a little special – it could be a scare, an activity, maybe both! For The Thing, the Great Horror Movie Night had a pop up tent in which a small team of scientists performed DNA tests to see who was infected by a strange new alien organism… And those that were still human. Fortunately, I was human, but there were many “things” out there that were not!

The Great Horror Movie Night is an extremely fun and rewarding time if you are a fan of horror movies. Sitting with hundreds of fellow horror fans in the dark, watching a scary movie, and eating some popcorn while monsters periodically roam the crowds is amazing. Tickets are $17 dollars per movie online and $25 dollars at the door. If you want to jump in the deep end, $89 dollars will wrangle you a season pass! Oh – you might want to bring a flash light as, while there is some lighting put out, the trail leading up to the Old Zoo seating area is a bit dark. A flash light is always a smart move!
