Bad Bunny, Jory Boy and J Alvarez in Concert – July 1

Six Flags welcomes Bad Bunny, Jory Boy and J Alvarez in concert in July 1, presented by Coca Cola®. All hailing from Puerto Rico, this concert will celebrate reggaeton music. Jory Boy began his solo career with his debut album in 2015. J Alvarez’s 2012 album Otro Nivel de Musica Reloaded holds many accolades including a Latin Grammy Awards nomination. Bad Bunny rose to popularity in 2016 with the release of his early singles, “No Te Hagas,” “Soy Peor” and “Tu No Vive Así.” The concert will take place in the Northern Star Arena at 7 p.m. and is included with valid theme park admission, Season Pass and active Membership.

July 4th Fest Sponsored by Coca-Cola® – July 2, 3 & 4

Guests are invited to celebrate Fourth of July weekend at the park July 2, 3 and 4. By day, thrill seekers can celebrate the American tradition of riding their favorite roller coasters such as Nitro, Kingda Ka and El Toro. At 10 p.m. each night, Coca-Cola® will sponsor elaborate firework displays accompanied with live music, food and entertainment.

Faith, Family & Praise Day: Rock and Rejoice – July 8

Guests are encouraged to bring their loved ones to Faith, Family & Praise Day July 8 for an uplifting rock and rejoice concert celebration in the Northern Star Area. The concert is hosted by Liz Black and features Pastor Charles Jenkins, Latice Crawford, Wess Morgan, Livre, Bryan Andrew Wilson, Angel Taylor, Kasey Edwards and Dave James. This day of praise also includes an all-you-can-eat lunch in the Catered Picnic Grove from 2 to 4 p.m., which requires a separate meal ticket. The concert begins as 7 p.m. and is included with theme park admission, Season Pass and active Membership.

Fright Fest Dance Auditions – July 21 & 22

Great Adventure’s iconic Fright Fest show “Dead Man’s Party” and the new “Unleashed” stage spectacular are looking for extraordinary dancers trained in musical theater, jazz, hip hop, ballet, freestyle and partnering. Open auditions will be held July 21 at 6 p.m. and July 22 at 10:30 a.m. in the park’s Showcase Theater. Dancers should arrive with a variety of dance shoes ready to learn choreography, freestyle and bring out their best inner zombie. Fright Fest Zombie and Specialty Performer Auditions – July 28 & 29

Six Flags Great Adventure is seeking individuals with a love for scaring as casting for the 2017 Fright Fest begins July 28 at 6 p.m. and Saturday July 29 at 1 p.m. in the Employment Center. The Entertainment Department is looking for street zombies, haunted maze actors and specialty performers with unique skills. New candidates should apply at www.sixflagsjobs.com prior to the open auditions and come prepared to participate in fun group exercises in front of a panel of judges. Specialty performers should come prepared to showcase their talents. No costumes, props or previous scare experience is required. DC Summer of Super Heroes: Military Appreciation Day – July 29

Six Flags says “thank you” to our brave men and women in the military as part of the DC Super Hero Summer.  The event includes discounts on admission, exclusive ride time after hours on BATMAN: The Ride, THE DARK KNIGHT and the all-new JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle for Metropolis, and a performance by the USO Show Troup. The Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle Starts Tonight

JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle for Metropolis Opens Saturday at Six Flags Great Adventure

JACKSON, N.J. ─ June 16, 2017Six Flags Great Adventure, in partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products, on behalf of DC Entertainment, today announces the grand opening of  JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle for Metropolis, which features the next generation of interactive thrills in an all-new 4D, action-packed ride, on June 17.

“Thrill seekers, families, comic fans and gamers alike will compete on the most innovative and interactive attraction the park has ever built,” said Six Flags Great Adventure President Neal Thurman.

In a high-stakes clash between good and evil, guests become members of the Justice League Reserve team and engage in a full-sensory journey to save the city of Metropolis as they battle alongside DC Super Heroes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, The Flash, Supergirl and Cyborg against Super Villains Lex Luthor and The Joker.

Six Flags Great Adventure welcomes Grammy-nominated Christian folktronica artist Crowder in concert June 3 as part of the MIKE AND IKE® Summer Concert Series. Crowder’s second studio album, American Prodigal, was released September 2016 and included popular singles “Run Devil Run,” “My Victory” and “Forgiven.” The concert will be held in the Northern Star Arena. Doors open at 5 p.m. and the concert begins at 6 p.m. Concert is free with theme park admission, Season Pass or active Membership.

MIKE AND IKE® Game Zone featuring NBA 2K17 – June 3 & 4

Basketball lovers are invited to participate in the MIKE AND IKE® NBA 2K17 3 Point Challenge Game June 3 and 4. Guests who purchase any two theater boxes of MIKE AND IKE® or HOT TAMALES® at a participating in-park retail location will receive a voucher for one complimentary play of the 3 Point Challenge Game. Noah Cyrus & AJR in Concert – June 4

Six Flags Great Adventure and Coca-Cola® present Noah Cyrus and AJR in concert on June 4. Noah Cyrus is the youngest daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus and sibling to Miley Cyrus. Noah began her entertainment career on Miley’s show Hannah Montana. In November 2016, Noah began her music career by releasing her debut single “Make Me (Cry),” followed by the acoustic “Almost Famous” and 2017’s “Stay Together.” AJR is an NYC indie-pop band compromised of brothers Adam, Jack, and Ryan Met, who produce and mix their own music. Action Sports World Tour – June 10 & 11

The Action Sports World Tour returns to Six Flags Great Adventure June 10 and 11. The skateboard and BMX action will take place in Adventure Alley at 2, 4 and 6 p.m. each day. This exhibition-style event includes high air, best trick and doubles competitions. Notable athletes participating include Paul-Luc Ronchetti, Coco Zurita, Mykel Larrin, Vince Byron and Jono Schwan. Jacob Sartorius in Concert – June 17

Six Flags Great Adventure welcomes internet sensation Jacob Sartorius June 17 as part of the MIKE AND IKE® Summer Concert Series. Sartorius initially promoted anti-bullying online, building his social media presence on Twitter, Instagram and Music.ly, delivering honest and heartfelt messages. His first original song, “Sweatshirt,” rose to the Top 5 on iTunes Overall Top Songs chart and received an RIAA Gold plaque. In October, Sartorius released his third single, “All My Friends,” which has amassed millions of streams and views. Six Flags Hurricane Harbor Open Daily – June 23

Beginning June 23, guests can enjoy Hurricane Harbor’s tropical oasis daily. The 45-acre, elaborately-themed water park is one of America’s largest, and features a million-gallon wave pool, one of the country’s longest “lazy rivers,” two family water playgrounds and more than 25 high-speed thrill slides.

Central Jersey Blood Center Blood Drive – June 24

The Central Jersey Blood Center will host a blood drive at Six Flags Great Adventures’ Employment Center from 8 a.m. through 4 p.m. Each donor will receive one theme park ticket valid for Six Flags Great Adventure. Blood supplies are typically low in the summer months and one donation can save up to three lives.

DC Super Hero Summer: Firefighter Appreciation Day – June 25

As part of the DC Super Hero Summer, Six Flags salutes super heroes of service with Firefighter Appreciation Day. Firefighters, their friends and family are invited to stay in the park for 90 minutes after it closes for exclusive ride rime on BATMAN™: The Ride, THE DARK KNIGHT™ Coaster and the all-new JUSTICE LEAGUE: Battle for Metropolis 4D. Bill Spadea from NJ 101.5, and Chasing News will be at the park to honor firefighters for all they do. Firefighters are asked to bring their ID to the NJ 101.5 table located in the Movietown section of the park to receive an event wristband. Ghost Town Alive Returning to Knott’s Berry Farm

Buena Park, Calif (May, 2017) Starting May 27th through September 4th, Ghost Town Alive! returns to Knott’s Berry Farm for another action-packed summer complete with bandits, cowboys, robberies, judges, a good ol’ western hoedown, and much more! Guests can visit the beloved town of Calico and experience an authentic western adventure by becoming a star in this summer’s story of the Wild West, where the power to unlock adventures is in the hands of every guest.

This summer, the story continues a year after the notorious Mayfield Gang escaped the custody of Sheriff Wheeler. Word around town is the Mayfield’s have been spotted back in Calico and the townsfolk are in need of some help in capturing the bandits and keeping the town safe. Ghost Town Alive! will offer guests a firsthand experience to play an important part in this unfolding story of the wild west, with specific tasks and activities and an essential role as an honorary citizen of Calico.

“Ghost Town Alive! has taken Knott’s summer entertainment and the idea of ‘playing in a theme park’ to a whole new level. The circus returns to town! The renowned “Traveling Circus” returns for another season of exhilarating performances. Set on the Calico Mine stage in Ghost Town, come witness a spectacle; see awe-inspiring stunts, and death defying acrobatics in “Circus of Wonders.” The astonishing 30 minute spectacular will be action packed with all-time favorite circus attractions such as the Trapeze, Tightrope, Aerial Acrobatics, Trampoline, and of course, clowns, incorporating lighting and pyrotechnics, making this nighttime show a totally unique event! The live entertainment continues with the explosive Wild West Stunt Show and the high kickin’ Calico Saloon Show, all in Ghost Town. The Shining Coming to Halloween Horror Nights

Drop of Doom VR at Six Flags Great Adventure Open Now

JACKSON, N.J. ─ April 20, 2017 ─ Six Flags Great Adventure, in partnership with Samsung Electronics America, Inc., the “Official Technology Partner of Six Flags,” today announced an all-new, extreme virtual reality experience coming to the world’s tallest and fastest drop ride beginning May 5. Thrill-seekers will use Samsung Gear VR powered by Oculus to battle giant, mutant spiders while they plunge 41 stories at speeds up to 90 mph on Drop of Doom VR, a fully-integrated virtual reality (VR) experience on Zumanjaro. “As the leader in innovation, Six Flags launched the very first VR coaster experiences. Now, we are taking virtual reality to the next level with the introduction of the first VR drop rides,” said Neal Thurman, park president. “Drop of Doom VR plays upon two of our greatest fears –extreme heights and spiders – and delivers an entirely new thrill for the spring 2017 season.” While anxious riders buckle into their floorless seats and strap on their VR headsets, they aretransported into a 360-degree virtual world where they become pilots of a futuristic gunship under attack by mutant spiders.

This intense, interactive adventure features:

  • High speed, vertical ascent up 41 actual stories that transforms into 100 virtual stories while teetering off the edge of a helicopter;
  • A 360-degree rotating view high above massive city skyscrapers that are under siege by enormous spiders;
  • A high-intensity gun battle against a giant arachnid, spewing baby spiders that virtually crawl all over the rider’s body;
  • A thrilling 10-second fiery plunge straight down at speeds up to 90 mph between towering skyscrapers;
  • The final showdown with a spider the size of a van, teeth-gnashing and in full attack mode.

Knott’s Soak City Waterpark Opens in May with New Slides and More

BUENA PARK, Calif, (April 2017) – The weather is warming up in sunny Southern California just in time for the opening of the newly expanded Knott’s Soak City Waterpark on May 20. Orange County’s largest outdoor water park is opening its gates to guests for an unforgettable summer season running through Labor Day weekend. During Knott’s Soak City’s opening weekend the newly expanded water park will be debuting seven new slides on two new slide towers, Shore Break and The Wedge  including; a fully remodeled Longboard’s Grill, additional seating areas and new spacious cabanas.

  • Shore Break will take single riders on an adrenaline-filled water adventure as thrill-seekers board one of four Aqua Launch chambers to await the chamber’s floor dropping from beneath their feet sending them on a high speed free fall down a 60-foot tall slide and through a series of exhilarating drops and daring loops. Additionally, Shore Break offers two dueling tube slides which will have riders zipping through adventurous drops and turns as they soak up the warm summer sun.
  • The Wedge will take families – up to six riders – on an open-raft ride as they descend down navigating hair-raising twists, turns and unexpected dips.
  • Longboard’s Grill will return for the 2017 summer season after a complete remodeling and expansion which now offers a newly redesigned sleek restaurant layout.  While Longboard’s theme remains the same, the menu includes new and delicious items such as hand breaded chicken tenders, fish & chips and assorted wraps. A new shaded outdoor seating area has been added by the restaurant’s entrance, welcoming diners to fuel up with delicious meals as they take a break from the sun.
  • As part of the water park’s expansion, additional spacious cabanas and seating areas have been added to the park’s blueprint. Guests can relax and unwind in the new row of cabanas which will be conveniently located across the new Shore Break tower. A new seating area equipped with lounge chairs will allow guests to relax in the sun and is also located near the Shore Break complex.

In honor of summer and the new expansion debuting at Knott’s Soak City Waterpark, guests are invited to celebrate the revamp with a park-wide Soak City Beach Bash during opening weekend, May 20 – May 21.  The weekend-long celebration will bring the perfect summer care-free ambiance along with an upbeat summer soundtrack to the splashing pools of the beloved water park.

Waterworld California Becomes Six Flags 20th Property

GRAND PRAIRIE, TEXAS — April, 27 2017 Six Flags Entertainment Corporation (NYSE:SIX), the world’s largest regional theme park company, today announced it has entered into an agreement with EPR Properties, owner of Waterworld California, to operate the water park located in Concord, California. Waterworld California, formerly owned and operated by Six Flags, is Northern California’s largest water park and is located 18 miles southeast of Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. The agreement is subject to approval by the City of Concord.

“This is an exciting new venture and a great opportunity to provide families with more entertainment options in this important market,” said Six Flags President and CEO John Duffey. “Guests in Northern California will now have the opportunity to enjoy two beautiful Six Flags parks. The 30-acre Waterworld California features more than 35 water attractions, including the region’s largest wave pool, an interactive children’s play area and its newest offering—Break Point Plunge. This heart-pounding, 270-foot long looping thrill ride launches riders in a capsule from a height of more than six stories. Other extreme slides include Honolulu Halfpipe—a mammoth curved tube slide and Cliffhanger, one of the park’s signature speed slides.
