Pearl Abyss Acquires CCP Games

SEOUL – September 6, 2018 – Today, Black Desert Online developer Pearl Abyss announced that it will acquire CCP Games, the creators of popular spaceship MMORPG EVE Online. The deal outlines that CCP Games will continue to operate independently as a developer with studios in Reykjavik, London and Shanghai, while integrating the company’s extensive development and publishing expertise into Pearl Abyss’ operations for all current and future projects.

EVE Online is a space-based, persistent world MMO game, developed by CCP’s Reykjavik studio. The game first launched in 2003 and has since gained recognition for its scale and complexity with regards to player interactions in EVE’s single, shared game world. EVE Online is one of the most critically-acclaimed MMORPG intellectual properties (IPs) in North America and Europe, and one of the most extensive works of science fiction in the world.

The acquisition itself is being handled by THQ Nordic AB, based in Karlstad, Sweden, and daily operations (sales and distribution, evaluation of sequels & new content etc.) will be done via THQ Nordic GmbH in Vienna, Austria.

Television kicks off New York Comic Con (NYCC) on Wednesday, October 3, with the world premiere screening of the live-action dramatic adventure series Titans, which launches October 12 as the first original series for the new DC UNIVERSE digital subscription service. Zen Studios Acquires Digital Rights to Williams and Bally Pinball Tables

San Francisco, CA – September 04, 2018 – Zen Studios today announced it is bringing tables from the world-renowned Williams and Bally pinball collection to digital game stores. This global agreement grants Zen the digital rights to the full Williams and Bally pinball library, with the initial 2018 releases including Fish Tales, Junk Yard, Medieval Madness® and The Getaway® High Speed® II – all of which are now available in public beta form through Pinball FX3 on Steam. Committed to making pinball an exciting community experience, Zen also invites fans of all ages to its headquarters in Budapest, Hungary, to see this process in action with a studio tour.

Known for its celebrated Pinball FX series, Zen has established itself as one of gaming’s all-time greatest digital pinball publishers, committed to pinball excellence over the last 11 years with more than 70 acclaimed tables to its credit. The addition of Scientific Games’Williams and Bally tables will only strengthen this lineup that until now has been comprised entirely of designs created by Zen itself, including some inspired by powerhouse intellectual properties such as Marvel, Star Wars and Jurassic World. In addition to Steam, these tables will be available for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Windows 10 and MAC OSX.

Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 Pushed to January 2019 with More Content

August 31, 2018 – Originally planned for a release in September, Battlefleet Gothic: Armada 2 will finally land on PC in January 2019. These couple of additional months of development will allow developers Tindalos to polish the game and bring all their ambitions to life after the great success met by the first game. The team at Tindalos will also take opportunity of this extra development time to add extra content for the game’s release!

The game already offers a huge content with 3 great narrative campaigns, 12 playable factions and refined gameplay. This extra development time will allow Tindalos to add a new exciting feature: all three narrative campaigns will thus be playable in coop multiplayer! In order to involve players during this extra development phase, we’ll organize not one but two pre-order betas. More details about the dates and content of these pre-order betas will be communicated shortly.
