UPDATE: 11:30PM - It looks as though Activision filed an SEC report earlier today stating that two 'senior employees' at Infinity Ward were guilty of 'insubordination' and 'breaches of contract'. Looks like Activision had this planned for a while. Thanks to Patrick K. at G4 for digging this up!
From the report:
'...The Company is concluding an internal human resources inquiry into breaches of contract and insubordination by two senior employees at Infinity Ward. This matter is expected to involve the departure of key personnel and litigation. At present, the Company does not expect this matter to have a material impact on the Company.'
So, this was a calculated move on the publisher's part afterall! I am sure there is more to come of this, so stay tuned!
INITIAL POST - So here is the situation as we know it. Earlier this evening, Infinity Ward CTO Jason West updated his LinkedIn profile to state that he was no longer working at Infinity Ward. G4 reports that 'bouncer types' have stormed the developer's studio and situation has everyone 'on edge'.
Robert Bowling, Community Manager for the Modern Warfare 2 developer, claims he has 'no info' from his Twitter account.
We have sent an email for confirmation on this matter to Activision's PR department and will update if we hear more.
