Hamburg, December 18, 2012. Online games publisher InnoGames is launching a new management structure effective the first of January 2013. Co-Founder Hendrik Klindworth will take over the responsibilities of a CEO (Chief Executive Officer). Gerhard Florin, who was Chairman,will step closer to the strategic side of the Business as Executive Chairman. Eike Klindworth will be the new CCO (Chief Creative Officer), while Michael Zillmer is being appointed as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Armin Busen (Chief Financial Officer) and Volker Dressel (Chief Marketing Officer) complete the management.
“Our major goal is to maintain the agility of a start-up in a dynamically growing company. This is a huge challenge and the new management structure shall significantly contribute to mastering it”, Hendrik Klindworth explains. “Gerhard Florin, former Electronic Arts Vice President of Publishing, is expected to bring his experience into the strategic direction of the company and will give continuous advice to the management.”
Florin says: “In recent years, InnoGames reached profitable and sustainable growth with an approach to high quality, clearly defined target groups and worldwide marketing. It’s very exciting to accompany this development as Chairman of the board. Now, I am glad to have an even larger advisory influence to the company’s strategic plans in a time that is a trendsetting era for the whole online gaming industry.”
In the upcoming year, InnoGames plans to publish three new titles, including the elaborate PvP (Player versus Player) focused 3d pirate game Kartuga. Strategically, the company wants to further develop their mobile market share. Thus, the games in development following Kartuga and the currently available titles will all be made available with single accounts as cross-platform games, in a browser as well as with apps on tablets and smartphones.
With about 100 million registered players worldwide, InnoGames ranks amongst the biggest publishers of online games. Currently the company employs more than 200 people in its Hamburg-based headquarters. In order to implement their growth plans, InnoGames plans to expand its human resources by 50 percent over all departments in the upcoming years.
