Crytek has announced that, worldwide, over 250 universities have signed up for educational licenses for their CryENGINE 3 game engine. The Educational SDKs allow those universities to teach game development to their students first-hand, allowing them to get their ‘hands dirty’ in a commercial product.

“We are absolutely delighted by the huge interest that academics from all around the globe have shown in CryENGINE 3. It’s really an honor for us to be considered the first-choice technology for so many leading universities. We consider them as strong partners, both in developing great software and improving our engine; and are really interested in further expanding those relationships.” said Carl Jones, Director of Global Business Development – CryENGINE.

You can find out more about the CryENGINE 3 over at Crytek’s official website.
